Chapter 2869 Quinley Tall
The sea serpent hissed in agony, its eyes now filled with hints of fear. Jared seized the opportunity to attack again. He swung his sword to battle the sea serpent. At the same time, the girl ran toward the ice soul fragment while the snake was occupied. She grabbed the treasure and fled.
Seeing the girl succeed, Jared leaped back, planning to break away from the fight. He had no need to waste his spiritual energy on the sea serpent. It’s sufficient that we get what we want. Killing this sea serpent is unnecessary.
Unexpectedly, right after the girl acquired the ice soul fragment, three people suddenly appeared and blocked her path. Their eyes were filled with murderous intent.
The girl was taken aback. She clutched the ice soul fragment in her hands as a panicky look flitted across her eyes.
Jared hadn’t anticipated an ambush there. He wanted to go over and help the girl, but the sea serpent blocked his path.
“D*mn it, you little beast. I was going to spare you, but you’re pushing your luck!” Jared cursed angrily and swung his Dragonslayer Sword. Multiple beams of light shot out from the sword, heading toward the sea serpent.
The sea serpent hissed, wanting to avoid the incoming attack, but it was too late. The lights penetrated its body, slicing it into pieces in an instant, and a white beast core floated into the air. Jared reached out to retrieve the beast core and put it away, then darted to the girl’s side.
The girl and the party of three that appeared out of nowhere stared at Jared in shock. They did not expect him to slay the sea serpent at such astonishing speed.
The formation plate began to spin, emitting a dazzling glow. A light curtain descended, instantly trapping Jared within. “You’ve even resorted to using a formation plate. That thing must be quite pricey, huh?” Jared couldn’t help but laugh as he looked at the arcane array before him.
“Compared to the ice soul fragment, this formation plate is nothing!” That one- eyed man grinned as he extended his hand to the girl. “Give me the ice soul fragment as well as all your belongings. Otherwise, a violent death awaits you.”
The girl stared at the trio coldly. Now that Jared had been restrained by the arcane array, she knew she couldn’t rely on him anymore, so she said to the three cultivators, “Aren’t you daredevils? Don’t you know who I am? I assure you all will suffer horrible deaths for daring to harm me in the far north.”
“Hahaha! You’re the eldest daughter of the Tall family, Quinley Tall, aren’t you? Don’t think we’re clueless, but I suggest you don’t overestimate your family’s influence too. Hand over the ice soul fragment now, and I can consider sparing your life. If you dare to resist, I’ll kill you, but not before we thoroughly enjoy ourselves first…” A lecherous look flashed past the one-eyed man’s eye.
