Yuven, who was trailing behind, simply looked at the two men ahead of him. He knew exactly what was on their minds, but they seemed to believe he was clueless. As they ventured deeper into the forest, low growls of demon beasts echoed around them.

“Friend, you should be careful here. There are too many demon beasts, and it’s dangerous. Today, you’re lucky to have us. Without our guidance, you probably won’t make it out of here.”

The man in the lead looked back at Yuven and spoke. He hoped Yuven wouldn’t be scared off by the constant growling of the demon beasts.

“In that case, I should thank both of you,” Yuven replied with a faint smile.

“There’s no need to thank us. Since you hired us, this is what we’re supposed to do,” the man said and exchanged a glance with his companion. In the next moment, the other man quietly produced a bag of powder and shook the powder onto the ground.

Soon, a strange fragrance filled the air, and the sounds of approaching footsteps surrounded them. Dozens of demon beasts surrounded them, effectively trapping them.

“Oh dear, why are there so many demon beasts here? This is bad,” the man in the lead exclaimed, pretending to be alarmed. He did this to make Yuven believe that he was genuinely worried about their situation.

“Yeah, why are there so many demon beasts all of a sudden? This is terrifying…” the other man. cried out.

Yuven, watching their act, couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “No need for theatrics. You tricked me into coming here. What do you want?”

Upon realizing that Yuven had seen through their scheme, the two men dropped their pretenses. “Friend, how about you hand over your money and your mount, and we won’t harm you?”

“Do you really think you two are a match for me?”

Yuven smiled coldly. “It’s not just the two of us here. We have dozens of demon beasts under our control. At our command, they will tear you to shreds.”

“Is that so? I’m not quite convinced.”

Yuven’s voice carried a hint of amusement.

The two men were in disbelief. They couldn’t fathom why the demon beasts that they had carefully trained were now following Yuven’s commands.

While Yuven considered playing around with them some more, he suddenly furrowed his brows. He sensed Jared’s presence, and Jared seemed to be in danger.

If he could sense it, it meant Jared wasn’t too far away. Without further hesitation, Yuven rode his white tiger and headed in the direction where he felt Jared’s presence.

“Running away, huh?”

Seeing Yuven suddenly mount his tiger and leave, they thought he was scared. They leaped forward, determined to chase after him.
