In a heartbeat, two demonic beasts illuminated by flames appeared in the sky. Their entire beings were wreathed in fire, sending ripples of heat that escalated the surrounding temperature to boiling degrees.

The two demon beasts fixated their eyes on Jared and the others. With a searing command from Phaethon, they lunged violently toward Jared.

Once he got rid of Jared, he did not need to worry about the rest. Even if he did nothing and stood there, they wouldn’t be able to hurt him in the slightest.

“Master…”

Feenix, sensing imminent danger, soared into the sky, turning into a phoenix with wings ablaze.

“A phoenix? And celestial beast in human form at that? Oh, I’ve hit the jackpot today!” Phaethon. screamed in ecstasy at the sight of Feenix’s transformation.

“Feenix, fall back!” Jared urgently commanded. He knew all too well that she wasn’t Phaethon’s match. Their strengths were worlds apart.

Feenix hesitated. She was willing to sacrifice her life for Jared’s safety.

“Retreat!” Jared’s voice boomed like thunder as he unsheathed his Dragonslayer Sword. Left with no other choice, Feenix descended. Jared watched silently as the two demon beasts drew nearer, their oppressive heat palpable from miles away.

He stood no chance against Phaethon. Yet, he couldn’t bear to see his women fall into the hands of another man. Even if it meant self-destruction, he would thwart Phaethon’s vile plans.

Besides, he had one more card up his sleeve- Ice Soul Pill. Jared would have to ingest the Ice Soul Pill in order to stand against Phaethon. He would have nothing to fear.

“Quinley…” Feenix cried out in relief.

“Ms. Tall, what brings you here?” Jared couldn’t hide his astonishment. He didn’t expect her to come. Quinley smiled. “If I hadn’t come, you would have been burned to death.”

Jared flushed with embarrassment. He wouldn’t be burned alive with the Ice Soul Pill, but he would lose it if he ingested it.
