“I’m not entirely sure. General Jaime simply told us to be prepared. As for the reason, I’m just as clueless as you are,” Claude answered with a shake of his head.

Jared was aware that Claude was merely an ordinary foreign official, who wouldn’t be privy to much insider information. Furthermore, among the many foreign officials, Claude was not even the most distinguished one.

“Where is General Jaime? I need to speak with him about something,” Jared asked.

“He’s in the grand hall, discussing matters with the leaders. Perhaps you could go see him later,” Claude replied.

Jared gave a nod, intending to wait outside. He didn’t want to get overly involved in the internal conflicts between beast generals.

Though he was currently considered a foreign official of Giles Manor, it was a circumstance born out of necessity. Sooner or later, he was bound to leave.

“Mr. Chance, General Jaime would like to see you…”

At that moment, the grand hall doors swung open. A commander approached Jared and spoke,

“He wants to see me?”

Jared was taken aback. He hadn’t anticipated that Jaime was already aware of his return, so he followed the commander into the hall.

At that moment, within the great hall, there were only six commanders clad in armor and not a single foreign in sight.

It was evident that for confidential matters, foreign officials were not to be included. After all, they were just helpers or guests, not true members of Giles Manor.

“Jared, have a seat…”

Upon seeing Jared enter, Jaime slowly spoke.

Jared found a place to sit, then asked, “General Jaime, do you have any idea why the Buckley Manor is suddenly attacking?”

Jaime didn’t respond to Jared. Instead, he asked, “Did you leave the city?”

“I did…” Jared nodded.

“Captain Ricky was killed by the eldest son of the Buckley family. I was there when it happened…”

Jared meticulously recounted the circumstances of the event.

Upon hearing this, Jaime couldn’t help but furrow his brows. He then said, “Don’t mention this to anyone else. Go and rescue your man from prison.”

With a casual flick of his hand, Jaime handed Jared a special release order.

Although Jared was puzzled as to why Jaime didn’t want him to disclose this matter because joining forces with General Cian against Buckley Manor would be a better idea, he didn’t ask further. He simply took the special release order and left.

Jared followed Claude to the prison, using the special release order to free Gordon.

When Gordon stepped out of the prison, he couldn’t hold back his tears despite being a fully grown man who was eight-foot tall.

Gordon turned to Jared and asked, “Mr. Chance, I can’t thank you enough. I wonder if you happened to see my sister? Is she doing alright?”
