Afraid that Isabella might grow suspicious. Anthony didn’t delay too long. When he returned to the cabin, he noticed the light in Isabella’s room was on again, and she was coming out. 

“What is she doing up this late? Anthony wondered, deciding to follow her. 

He saw habella walking around the cabin and staring at a milk bottle high on a shelf. Recalling that Theodore had a habit of drinking milk night, he realized that, due to his earlier interruption. Isabella might have forgotten to feed the child, causing Theodore to wake up hungry at 

every midnight. 

Over the past two days, Anthony had been preparing milk for Theodore. After feeding Theodore, he deliberately placed the bottle on a high shelf, creating opportunities to interact with Isabella. Otherwise, given her current indifferent demeanor, their progress would have been slow. 

Unable to reach the boule despite stretching out her hands, Isabella went to find a stool just then, a strong and masculine presence appeared behind her. Startled, she turned around and found herself facing Anthony’s chiseled Adam’s apple. Her cheeks flushed, and her heartbeat quickened. 

“What are you doing?” Isabella asked, wanting to retreat but finding herself trapped against the shelf. Anthony remained silent, his gaze fixed on her face, a desire to kiss her growing stronger. Acting on that impulse, he lowered his head and slowly leaned in closer 

Isabella realized Anthony’s intention and tried to escape, but his hand swiftly pressed against the shelf, blocking her escape. She looked up to see a familiar gleam in Anthony’s eyes, making her heartbeat quicken. Her entire body tensed, and fear became evident on her face. 

Anthony halted in his tracks, frowning deeply as he thought. Damn it. This woman has me wrapped around her finger

He closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, his gaze returned to normal. Reaching up, he took the bottle from the shelf and looked at with feigned innocence. “Why are you so scared! I just wanted to help you with the bottle, he said calmly. 

Isabella took the bottle, dumbfounded, and eyed Anthony’s changed demeanor with suspicion. She quickly regained her composure and said. coldly. “You should go back to sleep. I can handle the bottle myself 

With that, she left swiftly, almost as if fleeing. Anthony watched her retreat, his gaze intense. He murmured to himself, “Izzy. I’m running out of patience. I want to keep you by my side forever and leave my mark on you.” 

The DNA test report arrived three days later. Despite having anticipated the result, he was still ect 

ecstatic upon seeing the figure close to 100% on the report. He put away the document and smiled meaningfully as he mused, Tzzy, in the end, you still came back to me. 

Anthony stared out of the window, oblivious to George watching him outside the half–open door. George gripped his chest, unsettled by the stark change in Anthony’s demeanor. Worried that Anthony might have ill intentions, George hurried to the yard where Isabella and Layla were playing with Theodore. He pulled them aside and whispered urgently. “Izzy. I think Anthony has regained his memory. I saw him hiding something in his bedroom, and he’s acting strangely, nothing like his usual self.” 

Isabella froze while holding Theodore, feeling her heart sink instantly. She had noticed Anthony’s unusual behavior recently, but every time she tried to investigate, she convinced herself she was overthinking. George’s words deepened her suspicions. 

Recalling the past filled her with dread. She knew Anthony loved her deeply, but his love was overly possessive and paranoid. Additionally, his background was too complex, and she didn’t want to be involved with him again. If he had indeed regained his memory, she had to figure out her 

next course of action soon. 

After a moment 

a moment of thought, she looked at George and said “Can you lure Anthony out later? I need to see what he’s hiding and figure out if he’s regained his memory” 

George nodded. “All right, ask him to help me repair the bridge later. It’s new, but there are still many parts that need improvement 

“Thanks, Dad,” said labella, and George shook his head in 

response. 

Meanwhile, Anthony suppressed his excitement and left the room after putting away the report. As he stepped into the yard, George called him away: Seizing the opportunity, Isabella swiftly ran upstairs, while Layla stayed in the yard with Theodore, keeping watch for Anthony’s return. 

Anthony lived in the guest room which was relatively empty, making it easy for Isabella to search. Without any drawers in the cabinet, she rummaged through the bed and quickly found the DNA test report tucked under the pillow. Her heart raced as she saw Theodore and Anthony’s name and read the results, confirming a father–son relationship with 99.99% certainty.

She checked the date and was shocked to see the DNA test report had come out in just three days. Achieving this in such a remote border area was no small feat and certainly not something an amnesiac could accomplish 

Isabella’s legs feh weak as thoughts raced through her mind. ‘How did he regain his memory so quickly! And why has he been pretending nothing happened? Is he planning to take Theo away? The more she pondered, the more chills ran down her spine. Determined, she thought, ‘I have to get out of here, I won’t let anyone take Theo away from me
