Usually, Beth asked nothing when Lawrence was out on a mission. She felt free and happy to do whatever she wanted when Lawrence was absent.

However, Beth became worried after Maverick mentioned the explosive device. She said nothing about her worry but wore a worried look.

Then, Beth immediately retreated and closed the door in front of Lawrence.

Lawrence was stunned for another two seconds. He raised his hand, rubbed his lips, and then smiled gently. Then, Lawrence quickly went downstairs.

When Lawrence drove out of the neighborhood, Beth called Everly.

"Everly, do you know that Kailey is in trouble?"

"What? What happened?"

Everly, who lay on the bed and couldn't fall asleep, immediately sat up.

Beth retold Everly what Maverick had said over the phone.

Everly grabbed her phone and felt a chill in her palm.

Beth didn't realize her mistake till then.

Beth was anxious to share the news with her friend but forgot that Maverick was in danger too.
