"You must be exhausted, right, Annie? What would you like to have for lunch? I'll get Abigail to make some for you," Michelle said dotingly while looking at Ana with a loving gaze.

"I'm fine with anything, Mom. That's enough chat for now. I'm going to rest for a moment," said Ana.

"Sure. Go ahead," said Michelle while nodding.

As she watched Ana leave, she felt a little disappointed. She wanted to talk to her children about how Connor's fans had attacked Ana and how Demi didn't give Thomas acupuncture. However, everyone headed upstairs with a long face instead.

Then, Michelle figured they were just exhausted. After all, being in a show like that would tire out a person. Michelle even noticed the red veins in Thomas and Ana's eyes.

When they were having lunch, Thomas didn't come down. Abigail went upstairs to call him, but he said he didn't want to eat. So, Michelle went to call him herself.

"Don't worry about me, and enjoy the lunch yourself," Thomas said frustratedly in his room.

Hearing that, Michelle was speechless for a moment. Then, she asked loudly, "Thomas, did Demi upset you? Come out and tell me about it. Stop sulking in the room by yourself."

There was no response. So, she tried to persuade him again. However, there was either no answer again, or he would say in annoyance, "I don't want to eat! Are you done yet?"

Then, Michelle finally came downstairs with teary eyes.

Michelle's life had always gone the way she wanted. When she was younger, her family doted on her a lot. After she got married, Stephen treated her well as well.

All the children she had given birth to were impressive and obedient. So, none of them would yell at her like how Thomas did earlier.

The only obstacle in her life was when she realized the daughter she had raised wasn't her own. Clearly, that obstacle wasn't over yet, and she figured that Demi was the kryptonite of her life. Ever since Demi showed up, the Pitts' life had turned upside down.

Right when Michelle took a seat at the dining table, she heard the door opening. When she turned around, she noticed it was Alex coming in with his suitcase.

"Oh, you're home, Alex! Why didn't you call us in advance? We could've sent a driver to pick you up," she said while getting up happily.

"Hello, Alex," Ana greeted obediently as she stood up as well.

After a moment of silence, Thomas finally said, "Fine."

Then, he came out of the room, looking unhappy.

"What's wrong? Why the long face?" Alex asked again while ruffling Thomas' hair.

"It's nothing," Thomas answered stiffly. Hearing that, Alex stopped asking about it. After all, he had all the opportunity to find out about it.

When Michelle saw Thomas coming down with Alex, she was ecstatic.

"By the way, where's Demi? Why haven't I seen her around?" Alex asked while grabbing a seat.

Demi was Ana's assistant and also the Pitt family's caretaker. When Ana worked, Demi would follow her around. However, when Ana wasn't working, Demi would be staying at home.

Right after he asked the question, he noticed everyone became silent. Even the other three people stopped what they were doing, and there was an awkward look on their faces.
