Chapter 196 Revenge novel A Second Life, A New Power

"Demi, what did you just say? Is this how you show respect to your teachers?" Rebecca's voice shot up to a near scream.

Jacob rubbed his ears again, barely holding back his irritation.

Demi remained calm, her expression steady.

"Ms. Pope, I was simply making a logical point. I wanted you to experience firsthand the frustration I felt at that moment. And look—you're furious already, aren't you?"

Rebecca was at a loss for words. "You're just twisting words!" she finally spat, her anger bubbling over.

"Alright. That's enough." Jacob sighed, pressing his temples. "Like I said earlier, this ends here. No more of this nonsense. Everyone, go back to class and get along."

Although Rebecca was still fuming, she had no choice but to turn on her heel and leave first.

Her five students followed closely behind, and Demi took up the rear. The seven of them descended the stairs in complete silence, their footsteps echoing in the hallway. No one spoke.

When they finally reached the ground floor, Rebecca stopped abruptly and turned to Demi, her eyes cold and sharp.

"Demi, I suggest that you transfer schools. A place like this isn't meant for someone like you."

She didn't wait for a response before walking away.

Demi tilted her head slightly, then let out a small, amused smirk.

"Ms. Pope is right!" A male student—not Joseph, but another one from the group—sneered at her, his tone full of malice.

"Demi, you'd better transfer on your own. Otherwise, you're dead meat."

Demi couldn't help but laugh.

Was he trying to intimidate her? But it was too bad. He wasn't nearly intimidating enough.

"Are you planning to take revenge on me?" She arched a brow, her eyes glinting. She added, "Go ahead. I'll be waiting."

...

When the six students re-entered the classroom, language class was already in session.

Immediately, heads turned as students stole glances at them, curiosity flickering in their expressions.

"Demi, come with me for a moment." Luna gestured toward her.

Demi stood up and followed her out of the classroom.

"What happened?" Luna asked, her brows slightly furrowed. "I heard you got into a fight with five classmates."

Demi calmly explained the sequence of events.

"Mr. Wilson and the rest have gone back. Only Mr. Carson and Ms. Millie are still here."

He glanced at her through the rearview mirror.

"They're worried about Mr. West Senior and hope you'll stay by his side."

Demi raised an eyebrow as she said, "Mr. West Senior doesn't need someone watching over him 24/7."

She leaned back into her seat. "I understand their concerns, but I have my own education, my own career, and my own life. Even if I had all the free time in the world, I still wouldn't spend it babysitting a patient."

Felix nodded and then said, "I get it. I'll pass that message along."

Demi was a little taken aback. She hadn't expected Felix to accept her answer so easily, without even trying to persuade her otherwise.

...

Daniel had come to pick up Ana from school, arriving with their driver.

From a distance, his eyes suddenly caught sight of Demi. She was walking out of the school gates, with her backpack slung over her shoulder.

Before he could even process it, he saw her head straight toward a black Bentley. The door swung open, and without hesitation, she climbed into the back seat.

Daniel's hand tightened around the car door handle.
