Felix glanced at his legs and responded nonchalantly, "I got treated. No need to make a fuss."

"But didn't the doctors say it was incurable?" Charles was in disbelief.

"I found a skilled doctor and got it fixed," Felix said as he sat on the couch.

Charles was speechless.

"You still haven't answered me. What are you doing here?" Felix took a sip of water and looked at Charles.

"Oh, right! You interrupted, and I almost forgot why I came. Felix, what's your relationship with Demi? Why is she living next door to you?" he asked, curious.

"You saw her and came in just to ask this?" Felix cocked a brow.

"I was just curious. Answer me first." Charles stared at Felix.

"Tell me, why are you even here?" Felix remained unmoved, sipping his water.

"Fine, I'll go first," Charles raised his hands in surrender and wheeled himself closer to Felix.

His driver had already left after pushing him inside. Everyone knew Felix didn't like outsiders in his space.

Stopping by the coffee table, Charles hopped onto the couch opposite Felix. Once seated properly, he continued, "You told me to look after a girl named 'Demi,' right? So, even though I was still recovering, I rushed to class as soon as I could. But guess what? I was one day late, and she was already bullied!"

Before Charles could finish, Felix's expression fell. He was swiping on his tablet but lifted his gaze sharply at Charles at the mention of Demi being bullied.

"She was bullied?" His gazes burned with fury.

Charles cowered under the intense gaze. His voice even turned hesitant. "Yes… She did. But she fought back right away."

"Felix, be reasonable! My leg is still injured." Charles pointed at his right leg, which was still in a cast.

"Does having an injured leg stop you from going to school? Are you made of glass?" Felix gave him a look of disdain.

Charles was shocked.

"Felix, I was still hospitalized until today and was discharged early just to make it to class!" Charles defended himself.

"Then why didn't you have your lackeys watch over her? If you were one of my men, I would have locked you up for two weeks and demoted you!" Felix huffed disapprovingly.

Charles was grateful he wasn't one of Felix's men. How was he supposed to know trouble would happen on the first day? It looked like he needed to take this more seriously from now on.

"Felix, let's forget this and talk about something more fun! Who was the doctor that treated your legs? Introduce me! I need treatment, too. I'll die of boredom if I can't move around for three months!" He pointed at his cast and looked at Felix expectantly.
