"I can do it. Just let me try," Demi said while reaching her hand toward Wendy. "Mrs. Yale, give the knife to me."

The chef's knife was in Wendy's hands. She hesitantly handed the knife to Demi. The chef's knife they had found was a lot narrower than a cleaver but slightly wider than a fruit knife.

Demi picked a tree that was suitable for setting up the tent. She then bent down and started striking the tree with the knife.

With each strike, visible marks started to appear on the tree trunk. The knife marks got deeper and deeper.

Everyone's eyes lit up. After dozens of strikes, the tree finally fell with a loud crash.

"Demi, let me give it a try." Connor reached out his hand, full of anticipation.

Connor thought he shouldn't let a young woman do all the work while a strong guy like him just stood there. He thought he could also chop down the tree since Demi could do it.

"Is it that hard? Let me try." Unconvinced, Matt stepped forward and took the knife from Connor's hand.

After several attempts, Matt took a deep breath and turned to Nigel. "Nigel, you want to try?"

Nigel also gave it a try, but the result was still the same. At this rate, they wouldn't be able to cut down a single tree even if they were chopping until nightfall.

"Tyler, do you want to come and have a try?" Nigel asked Tyler.
