On a mountain trail nearby, Benedict was full of energy as he made his way toward the peak.

At this moment, the sky was on the verge of dawn, and the crisp mountain air was refreshing.

Trailing behind him, Carson and Millie were exhausted and panting heavily.

"Dad, let's take a break. We've been climbing for over an hour,” Millie said between gasps.

"You guys are so weak! You can't even keep up with an old man like me!" Benedict stood above them, leaning on his dragon-head staff as he looked down at his children with disdain.

"Dad, we're fine. We're just worried about your health," Carson said.

"My health is perfectly fine," Benedict replied, looking refreshed. "I feel like I could reach the summit in one go."

Carson was at a loss for words.

"Dr. Finnegan, please check on my father," he said, turning to a young man in his mid-20s.

This young doctor was Zeke Finnegan, Seamus' nephew. Despite his age, he was a highly skilled physician and the rising miracle doctor of the Finnegan family's lineage.

"Alright." Zeke stepped forward and took Benedict's pulse.

"I told you I'm fine. How troublesome. Do you think I don't know my own body?" Benedict grumbled discontentedly.

"Mr. West Senior is in perfect condition," Zeke said a short while later, addressing Carson and Millie.

Upon hearing this, Benedict beamed. "Is that so, Zeke? I told you I was fine."

"However, Mr. West Senior, you should still pace yourself while climbing," Zeke advised gently.

"I understand. Don't worry." Benedict nodded heartily before turning to his still-panting children. "If you two can't go on anymore, just stay here and rest. I need to hurry up—I want to see the sunrise."

Carson and Millie were rendered speechless.

With that, Benedict turned and steadily continued his ascent. Sean and Zeke hurriedly followed after him.

Carson helped Millie to her feet and hurried after them.

"Could it drain Dad's life force?" Millie furrowed her brows even deeper.

Carson was completely stunned. After a while, he finally snapped to his senses and whispered, "Millie, don't say that in front of Dad, or he'll chase us away again."

"Well, I can say one thing's for sure—that Dr. Moone isn't a simple person," Millie muttered.

"We can quietly ask Dr. Finnegan about it later," Carson said, his expression turning serious.

Before sunrise, Benedict successfully reached the mountain summit. He gazed at the rolling mountains in the distance as the fresh mountain breeze brushed against his face. The wide-open view filled his heart with an immense sense of peace and exhilaration.

Behind him, Sean was panting heavily. He was honestly surprised by Benedict's incredible stamina.

His mind also drifted to that emerald ring, but unlike Mille and Carson, his thoughts went in a different direction.
