"Alright. My job here is done. I'm going back to eat."

Just as Thomas was finishing the bitter medicine, Demi stood up, ready to leave.

The doctor and crew members hurriedly asked, "Ms. Moone, is he really okay now?"

"There might still be trace toxins, but it's nothing serious. Get him to a hospital." With that, she turned and walked away.

"Wait—" A staff member tried to call after her, but in the blink of an eye, Demi suddenly picked up speed—and vanished into the distance.

Thomas watched her retreating figure with a complex expression.

"Let me check on him." Seamus stepped forward, taking Thomas' pulse.

Three minutes later, he nodded. "She's right. He's stable. Get him to the hospital—two days of observation, and he should be fine."

Herne approached hesitantly and asked, "Dr. Finnegan, Demi used two kinds of herbs just now."

He'd almost said weeds, but caught himself just in time. "I've studied medical texts extensively, but I've never seen these before—let alone knew they could cure snake venom."

He held out the two plants for Seamus to examine. As an heir to a renowned family of traditional medicine, Herne knew Seamus' reputation well.

Seamus studied them, then chuckled. "These likely haven't been recorded in any existing medical compendium."

"Then how did Demi know their properties?" Herne was stunned.

"Haven't you realized yet? That girl knows things even you and I don't." Seamus smiled knowingly.

Herne was taken aback. "You mean you don't recognize them either?"

"Not a clue." Seamus shook his head.

Herne's eyes widened. Demi knew medicinal secrets even the great Seamus didn't?

After Thomas finished the bitter medicine with a grimace, the production team immediately arranged for his transfer to the hospital, with the on-site doctor accompanying him.

"Since your team is now down three members, you'll merge with Demi's group," the coordinator informed Herne's team.

"We should've done this from the start!" George muttered.

"I'm fine. I was just so worried about Thomas."

Their attention shifted to the bedridden man.

"You idiot. How do you miss getting bitten by a snake?" Harold reprimanded.

Thomas' brow furrowed. "My mind was preoccupied—how would I notice?"

"Ana is down with a little cold. Why are you so flustered?" Harold scoffed.

"It wasn't just Ana being sick. It's Demi refusing to forgive us! They are constantly at each other's throats!"

Harold was speechless.

"Demi saved me again today. While treating me, I kept thinking about how terrible I've been. I've treated her so poorly since she came home. Our family has been harsh to her. We treated her like a servant and only remembered Ana's birthday but never hers. Brought gifts only for Ana. And then..."

His voice croaked, "We left her in that burning car. Yet, Demi saved me twice."

Tears welled up in Thomas' reddened eyes as he continued, "I hate myself for it. Why was I so mean to Demi? How could we not notice she didn't get out of the car?"
