As they stepped outside, Charles couldn't hold back his curiosity.

"So, Rebecca knew you from before? What kind of twisted fate is this? Did she bully you back then too?" he asked, while Tony silently pushed his wheelchair.

Demi smiled faintly. "She berated me for over a year before transferring here to teach."

"What the hell? What did you even do to her?" Charles frowned.

"The same thing Vanessa did," Demi replied calmly.

"Damn it! That shameless woman!" Charles couldn't help but curse.

"Did her two brats bully you too? Don't worry, no matter which school they end up in, I'll make sure they get a proper 'welcome,'" he said through gritted teeth, his expression dark and ruthless.

"That won't be necessary," Demi replied.

"Don't be too kind! Nice guys finish last!" Charles lectured her earnestly.

"It's not that. I just don't want you dirtying your hands dealing with people like them," Demi explained.

Charles scoffed, "I'm not asking anyone to kill them. Just leave it to me! They shouldn't get off easy."

Demi fell silent for a moment before changing the subject. "How much longer did the doctor say your leg will take to heal?"

"Why the sudden question?" Charles raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"I have some medicine that's very effective for fractures like yours. I'll bring it for you tomorrow," Demi offered.

She had always believed in repaying kindness—a favor for a favor.

Charles hesitated before replying, "I don't think there's a need for that?"

After all, his leg was being treated by the best orthopedic specialist in Lynora City. Demi was probably talking about some folk remedy—he wasn't about to risk it! What if it made things worse?

Demi seemed to read his mind and chuckled. "Didn't you want to learn the Brotherhood of the Iron Palm? How are you going to do that sitting in a wheelchair?"

Charles blinked, then his eyes lit up with realization. "Wait—are you saying if my leg heals, you'll teach me?"

"Provided you study hard," Demi replied.

"I will! I absolutely will!" Charles nodded vigorously.

There was a pause. Then, Felix replied, "Lucky bastard."

Charles said, "Haha. I know!"

After a brief pause, Felix said, "Invite me when you train."

Charles replied, "But you're already a master! Why learn more?"

Felix said, "Alright."

Charles stopped texting as he could tell Felix was busy. When he looked up, Demi was side-eyeing him.

Charles stiffened. "I'm studying! I just had to ask Felix something urgent," he blurted, hastily flipping open his Indorian textbook.

Everyone gaped at him in shock.

Since when did Charles—their untouchable "boss"—act like a scared mouse around Demi?
