The past rushed through time's tunnel, crashing into Demi with brutal clarity.

Timothy had been pinned against a wall like this before. And the bully back then was none other than the very same chubby kid now getting pummeled—Larry.

She'd seen him stuffing a pencil case full of caterpillars and forcing Timothy to eat them. What horrors had he inflicted on Timothy when Demi wasn't watching?

By the time Timothy arrived, Larry was curled up on the ground, howling as kicks rained down.

One glance at the scene, and he knew exactly why Demi had summoned him. His expression remained cold.

Demi lowered her head and said to Charles, "Alright. That's enough."

Charles' eyes widened in mock offense. "Wait. Do you think I set this up? Hell, no! That dumbass pissed off the wrong crew the minute he transferred. I just knew they'd jump him today and thought you'd enjoy the show!"

Demi held his gaze. "Do you swear it's not you?"

Meanwhile, Demi listened to Charles' explanation at the cafe. Larry and Erika had transferred to Hilton Academy, the private school next door.

Though Moran Academy and Hilton Academy were private institutions, their philosophies diverged drastically.

Moran Academy prized pedigree and prestige, while Hilton Academy welcomed anyone that could afford it. However, Hilton Academy still cared about the students' passing rates. Hence, they offered scholarships to lure in the top-scoring low-income students.

Larry was beaten as he had attacked Ricky's lackey on his first day. He had bragged that he wasn't scared of anyone they called. Hence, Ricky had decided to teach him a lesson.

"What a coincidence," Demi deadpanned.

"Right? Wild."

Charles didn't even seem guilty. In truth, he had a part to play in this.
