"Alright, go ahead and pet them," Demi said to George, gesturing with her hand.
"Are you sure?" George asked, his expression brightening with excitement. His hand hovered hesitantly.
"Yes, go ahead. Don't worry," Demi replied, holding back a laugh.
George, nervous, finally gathered the courage to reach forward. He first gently pet one of the pups. When it didn't react, he stroked the heads of the other pups as well.
"Can I pet the big one?" George asked, his hand hovering above one of the adult wolves, unsure.
Demi nodded. "Sure. But remember, after you pet them, you should feed them some meat."
"Got it," George replied, nodding quickly. He then carefully placed his hand on the big wolf's head.
The big wolf lay quietly and didn't react.
George grinned, emboldened, and started petting the wolf.
Once done, he happily opened his backpack and pulled out some meat. As he unpacked it, he said, "I'll give them my share of meat, and I'll eat less later."
"Go ahead. We've already taken over their den, so it's only right to offer them something in return," Nigel said.
With that, George placed two chicken drumsticks in front of the wolves.
But the wolves looked at Demi.
"Go ahead, eat," Demi said, giving them a nod.
Only then did the two adult wolves signal the four pups to come and eat the chicken drumsticks.
"Demi, they really listen to you. They won't even eat until you give them the go-ahead," Vivian said, her eyes wide with surprise.
"They're so well-behaved, just like dogs, right?" Caitlin also stared, amazed.
"Demi is so impressive!"
"I'm jealous! If I could do what she was doing, I'd pet tigers, lions, and leopards every day!"
"Let's carry on," Demi smiled and said.
One of her seniors, Bernard Homer, was a beast tamer who had taught her everything, and in the world of cultivation, she owned an entire mountain filled with spiritual beasts. Taming an ordinary wolf was like child's play for her.
A moment later, Caitlin turned to Demi, her eyes full of curiosity and admiration. "Demi, is there anything you're afraid of?"
The group's curiosity was piqued, and everyone's eyes shone with anticipation as they looked at Demi.
"I feel like you're not afraid of anything. You can do everything," Caitlin added.
Demi froze for a moment. She started to think about the things that she was afraid of.
She had grown very strong now and wasn't afraid of much, but she was terrified of many things in her past life.
"In the past, the thing I was most afraid of was people," Demi said after a brief pause.
"Huh? Why were you afraid of people?"
"Did you have social anxiety? You don't seem like it now."
With her confirmation, Herne carefully reached out to pet one of the pups.
The pup let out a soft snore, seemingly already asleep.
"I'll pet them next."
"Me too."
"This is such a great chance. We can't pass it up."
The others eagerly rolled up their sleeves, ready to join in.
The comments showed the audience's envy.
"Yeah, this is an opportunity they can't miss!"
"Man, we don't have a chance!"
"I'm so jealous!"
A moment later, Vivian turned to Demi.
Demi had no idea how to respond to that.
Meanwhile, Ana's expression shifted dramatically when she heard that.
