Maria turned to Daniel.

"Honestly, Daniel, I don't get your family's logic. Demi is good—and still, you hurt her. Again and again. Because of you, she's been humiliated, used, and pushed to the edge of death. She got nothing from you—no love, no kindness. But even then, she still saved Thomas. Twice."

"So next time you try to guilt-trip someone, how about you start with yourselves? Ask yourselves if you even deserve to hold someone else to those standards."

She gave one final, withering chuckle.

"Come on. Let's go." Demi tugged at Maria, turning to leave.

"Everything Maria said basically confirms Demi is a Pitt."

"Exactly! If you think of her as part of the Pitt family, all of this starts making perfect sense."

"I just don't get why Demi keeps denying it. Wouldn't it be easier to get justice if she admitted it?"
