"They're still married, Maria," James reminded her gently. "They haven't divorced yet so all their assets are tied together. What if Summer chooses to forgive her husband? Our actions will impact her, too."

This time, it was Maria who went silent. After thinking it over, she agreed gloomily.

"But how could Summer still want to live with that bastard?"

"You'd have to ask her." The truth was, it was a piece of cake for him to have someone ostracized. If this was what Maria wanted, he would do whatever was in his power to help her.
