But Xeneron was ready. He turned to me with a dark smile, as if he’d been savoring this moment, waiting for my reaction. The gleam in his eyes was cruel, his posture relaxed yet poised for an attack. His voice came out smooth, taunting, and chilling. “You really are something else,” he sneered, tilting his head. “So kind, so noble. But here, kindness isn’t worth a thing. In our pack, kindness is nothing more than a weakness. It’s the kind of weakness that gets you killed.” 

His words were icy, slicing through me as his claws elongated, sharp as daggers and glistening with blood. The ground beneath me seemed to freeze as he advanced, and my legs refused to move. I tried to reach Raizel, but he moved first. 

Just as Xeneron’s claw swung toward me, Raizel threw himself forward, his body slamming into mine, but I still felt the impact as he shielded me from that fatal blow.

I shook my head, horror and guilt twisting together in my stomach. “No, Raizel… I’m so 

orry. This is all my fault.” My voice broke as I pressed my hands against his wounds, as 

though I could stop the blood that was pouring out faster than I could hold it back. His 

blood soaked my palms, hot and unrelenting, staining them red as I pressed harder, desperate to save him. 

But it was useless; his blood spilled forth like a river, my own heartbeat hammering against my chest with each passing second. 

Raizel’s eyes met mine, his gaze growing dim, his face losing what little color remained. His 

once–bright, defiant eyes were now hazy, shadowed by exhaustion and pain. 

“Don’t… don’t blame yourself,” he murmured, though his voice was so faint it was almost 

lost in the howling wind. 

But then, just as his strength seemed to slip away entirely, Xeneron’s face darkened, his predatory grin widening as he loomed closer. His claws, still slick with Raizel’s blood, 

reached for me, and I felt his grip like an iron vice clamping down on my throat. 

I could barely breathe, and as he squeezed tighter, I felt the blood vessels in my neck strain and rupture, the flow of blood pressing against my skin and spilling down my neck. 

“Pathetic,” he growled, his voice filled with malice. “I am the true Alpha. I am the only King this pack needs.” He sneered down at us, as though we were nothing but a nuisance to be 

swept aside. “Both of you, just die already.” 

Our blood was mingling, spilling together on the ground in a dark, crimson pool. My vision was blurring, my heart heavy as I looked at Raizel, who lay limp beside me, his skin deathly pale, his breathing barely a whisper. 

Tears filled my eyes, slipping down my face as I leaned close, brushing a trembling hand against his check, smearing his blood across his skin as I placed a final, desperate kiss on

“It’s okay, Raizel,” I whispered, my voice thi 

grief. “I’ll stay with you until the end.” 

Then, in a flash of pure, blinding light, everything changed. 

A radiant, holy light burst forth between us, shattering the darkness and pushing Xeneron back. He staggered, his face twisted with shock and rage as the light encircled Raizel and me, lifting us off the ground, holding us in its warm embrace. My body felt weightless, 

very pain fading, every wound knitting together as a gentle warmth filled me, soothing the pain and mending my injuries. I felt whole, powerful, as if I’d been reborn. 

Xeneron’s face contorted, disbelief etched in every line. He stared at us, muttering, “No… this can’t be. The Moon Goddess’s blessing… it should be mine! I am the true Alpha King!” 

But Raizel’s wounds had vanished, his skin unblemished and his cheeks flushed with renewed life. His eyes fluttered open, bright and alive as he looked at me, a soft smile on his lips. “Selen… you saved me.” 

From his pocket, Raizel pulled out a small, red box, its surface shimmering with a pure white aura. Inside, the warmth of the Moon Goddess’s power pulsed, a force as ancient as it was comforting, wrapping us in a sense of peace and belonging. 

Together, we stepped from the holy light, hand in hand, each of us restored, our power united. “How about we do this again?” Raizel said as he smirked at Xeneron. 

Disbelief was still etched across Xeneron’s face, but, as if trying to deny the reality before him, his eyes got darker, his evil aura reaching its peak, “You think the Moon Goddess can save you from me? You’re still nothing! I am the true Alpha King!” 

With that, he pounced, more ferocious and ruthless than ever before. 

But this time, with Raizel and I’s full strength, we fought Xeneron together. 

It was a hard fought battle; Xeneron was relentless, advancing towards us even after receiving fatal blows, but with the Moon Goddess’s blessing, there was no way we could lose.
