Aveline frowned slightly, considering Barbara's current condition.

“Does she remember me?” she asked.

Reaching Barbara's room, Aveline knocked gently on the door. It wasn't long before the caregiver opened it.

“How has Madam Barbara been lately?” Aveline asked.

“Pretty much the same—sometimes she's clear-headed, other times not so much,” the caregiver replied.

Aveline nodded and walked in, passing through the small sitting area to the bedroom door. She paused as she saw Barbara propped up in bed, holding a flower crown, her wrinkled face glowing with delight.
