Madison froze for a moment upon hearing this. She turned to Sebastian with a questioning look. “Did you really hire actors? 

Sebastian chuckled. “Try getting someone to pose as the hospital director and doctors in a hospital during ward rounds. They would probably be thrown out before the show even began.” 

“Then… Those who did the rounds were real doctors? And the hospital director is the real director?” 

“Dr. Wade Joneston. You can look him up online,” he answered. 

After a moment of searching, Madison exclaimed, “Whoa, he really is the director! Seb, you’re incredible!” 

Sebastian said with a smile, “I’ve already spoken to them. They will come up with a treatment plan as soon as possible. Someone should come to arrange for a room transfer soon. You can just follow the nurse when the time comes, Mrs. Hill.” 

Puzzled, Audrey asked, “A room transfer?” 

He replied, “Yes. Mr. Hill is currently in a shared ward with three beds. Although the other two beds are unoccupied for now, other patients could move in at any time. A noisy environment isn’t good for Mr. Hill’s recovery. 

“It’s better to transfer him to a VIP ward with a better environment. I apologize for not consulting you earlier before making the arrangements. I hope you don’t mind.” 

“Oh, no! Not at all!” Audrey waved her hands. From her expression, she still seemed to be in a daze as she tried to process everything. “But we asked about the VIP wards back then. The doctor on duty said they fully booked, so we couldn’t get one…‘

However, just because others couldn’t get one didn’t mean Sebastian couldn’t. After all, the hospital director even came in person to check on Mason. What else wasn’t possible for him? 

At that thought, Audrey immediately fell silent. She turned to Sebastian and scrutinized him with curiosity. “Earlier… you said that our families arranged a marriage between you and Madison? And all that about conveying greetings on behalf of your father and meeting up in Jandersville are all fake, right? 

“We don’t have many connections in Jandersville, nor do we know anybody from the prominent Landon family.”

Sebastian lowered his gaze. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Hill. I had to lie in order to settle the urgent matter earlier. However, everything about my family background is true, and my arrangements with the hospital director are real. You can be rest assured.” 

“That’s alright. You don’t have to apologize. You did it to help our family, and I should be thanking you instead. It must have been a lot of trouble for you.” Audrey paused at this point and continued, “As for you and Madison… Your relationship is fake too, right?” 

Madison’s breath hitched in her throat. She didn’t dare to look at Sebastian or her mother. She could only glance around nervously. Her guilty conscience was practically written all over her face. 

In contrast, Sebastian didn’t avoid Audrey’s question. He met her gaze directly and replied after a moment of deliberation, “I’m still pursuing Madison. I’ve confessed my feelings to her, but she… hasn’t accepted yet.” 

With that, he lowered his head dejectedly. 

Audrey and Madison were both taken aback. He was speaking the truth, but it sounded like he was tattling on her for some reason.
