Chapter 1025
“Hansel, stop right there!” A fashionable young woman chased after Hansel near an escalator in the mall. Hansel had reached the foot of the escalator. He stopped in his tracks and turned toward her impatiently.” Frances, I’ve made myself very clear. Don’t make things awkward for everyone.”
ure
Frances Crane sneered. “Hah, you’re acting like I’m the one clinging to you. If you hated it that much, you shouldn’t have agreed to the blind date your family arrange for you in the first place. You’ve shown up, but you don’t even have the decency to sit down for a meal while ging me the cold shoulder?”
She sized him up with a sharp gaze, her lips curling Into a disdainful smile. “Mr. Johnson, you clearly lack
|manners.”
Hansel smirked coldly. “I don’t believe you’re unaware of my situation, and yet you still came to the blind date. If I have no manners, then you’re just shameless.”
You!” Frances stomped her foot in anger. “You’ve broken up with your ex long ago, yet you’re still pretending to be devoted to her? How fake can you get?”
“That’s none of your business.”
Frances took a deep breath. “Fine, since we’re just here to appease our families, we might as well play along. Do you think our mothers would believe us if we didn’t go through with the charade?
“There’s a restaurant up ahead. Let’s go in, order a couple of dishes, and take a few staged photos to complete our task. Then, we can call it a day.”
Hansel nodded. “Fine,”
He didn’t want to hear Evelyn’s nagging. A single photo for some peace and quiet was a fair trade.
France’s expression softened when she saw that he was still somewhat reasonable despite his hot temper, and they walked toward the restaurant together.
Hansel avoided her hand as she reached for his arm. “What are you doing?
Frances scoffed and grabbed his arm forcefully. She snapped a few photos of them with her phone. Then, she withdrew her hand in disdain when she was done.
“I’m just taking photos of us,” she said. “What’s wrong? Do you think I’m going to pounce on you?”
Hansel replied, “Sorry, I’m not interested.”
“Ha! Then who are you interested in? Your ex? Or your ex before that?”
None of your business.”
Just as they were about to walk through the restaurant entrance, Hansel suddenly paused in his tracks. He rushed toward a figure in the distance.
Miranda!
The fleeting figure he had just seen… It looked just like her!
On second thought, Hansel found it unlikely. That woman was holding on to a man’s arm, looking utterly Inseparable.
Miranda was busy with college. Why would she be at a mall, let alone walking arm–in–arm with some guy?

It had been two years. During that time, Paul and Sam both had their eyes on Miranda. One failed to win her over, and the other turned out to be her cousin. Neither of them could win her over, so how could there possibly be any other man?
Hansel hadn’t appeared in front of Miranda in a long time sometimes, he would drive to the alley near her apartment or park somewhere near Bedford College just to catch a glimpse of her when he missed her terribly. It made him feel as though he was a little closer to her.
When Calvin learned about this, he said, “Hans, you’re really something else.”
