Tina’s eyes widened in shock. 

She suddenly remembered something Miranda had once said, “Life is full of ups and downs. Everyone hits rough patches, and what goes around comes around. My luck today could easily be yours tomorrow.” 

Yasmine snapped out of her daze and immediately tugged Sophie’s sleeve. “Aunt Sophie, Miranda has built a lab. What are we going to do? Mr. Taylor will find out what we did.” 

She was so flustered that she forgot she shouldn’t address Sophie that way. 

“Quiet!” Sophie glared at her. “What have we done? We didn’t do anything. So, watch your mouth.” 

In contrast, Theodore and Joli studied the building with keen interest. The longer they looked, the brighter their eyes got. 

“Joli, it even has a fifth floor. How big do you think this place is?” Theodore asked. 

Joli crossed his arms with a look of genuine admiration on his face. He knew this was Miranda’s hard work and that she went allout when she set her mind to something. 

“We’ll find out once we go inside, right? 

Theodore’s eyes lit up. “Wait… We can? We didn’t get an invite…” 

They had only ended up here because Joseph had passed along his invitation. 

Joli smirked. “Who says we didn’t get one?” 

.Theodore blinked and was taken aback. What did Joli mean? Could it really be… 

Joli casually unzipped his jacket and showed him the corner of a red envelope tucked in his inner pocket. 

Theodore’s eyes widened, and he let out a soft gasp. “Joli, you-” 

“Shh! Keep it down.” 

Theodore quickly contained his excitement, though his heart raced. He lowered his voice and asked, “Did Miranda give that to you?” 

“Yup.” 

“Are you two close?” 

Joli thought for a moment. “Not really. We’re not that close.” 

“Then, why would she…” Theodore was stunned. 

“Maybe she just wants us to enjoy the show?” 

Just then, Christine greeted Joseph with a smile. “Wow look who’s here. It’s Mr. Banks, our special guest.” 

He forced a smile in return. “I appreciate that. But with all these big shots here, it feels awkward to think of myself as a special guest.” 

It dawned on him just how impressive the gathering was, and he felt a wave of unease wash over him.

Christine had practically assembled half the academician in one room. 

Joseph felt utterly out of place among them, let alone considering himself a special guest. That idea seemed not just unrealistic but downright foolish. 

She chuckled as if she was oblivious to the fear and uncertainty in his eyes. “I don’t remember sending an invitation to you. Miranda, come over here.” 

Miranda approached her and asked, “What’s wrong, Dr. Young?” 

“Mr. Banks brought Dr. Xander and her students to congratulate you. But I don’t recall sending him an 

invitation.” 

“Actually, we didn’t.” Miranda nodded. “But when we sent the invitation to Mr. Taylor, we also sent one for Mr. Sinclair, Maybe he wasn’t keen on coming, so he passed it to Mr. Banks instead?” 

“Oh, I see.” A realization dawned on Christine. “I thought Mr. Banks was crashing the party with all these people just to see a spectacle.
