Chapter 0645
Miranda calmly withdrew her gaze and focused on her meal. The dishes prepared by the Landons for their guests were, of course, exceptional.
Word had it that they had even invited a national banquet chef for the occasion; the food was exquisite, pleasing in both taste and presentation. Even a simple dessert served midway through was almond cake, a signature dish from official state banquets.
For Madison, this meal was the ultimate feast.
“Miranda, this is so good… and this one… and this one… You have to try these!” she urged, enjoying every bite and trying to get Miranda to eat more as well.
Miranda chuckled. “I am, I’m eating.”
As the two were immersed in the food, Sebastian suddenly stood up. “Miranda, Madison, come with me for a moment.”
They both looked at him in confusion.
“For what?” Madison asked. It seemed like there was a “don’t disturb me when I’m eating” plastered all over her forehead.
Sebastian sighed. “Come on; let’s go to the main table. I want to introduce you to some family members. “Do we have to?” Madison wanted to ask. They didn’t know these people–why bother meeting them? But after a second thought, she realized it wouldn’t be polite to refuse, especially since Sebastian had personally asked. If it had been just a casual friend, he likely wouldn’t have extended the invitation to meet his family.
So, both of them picked up their glasses and followed him to the main table.
After rounding the folding screen, Miranda felt a brief moment of surprise, though she had somewhat expected it. There sat Paul, along with Samuel, in the main seat.
There was also the elderly Bridget on one side, and Scott on the other. To her further surprise, Sam was also there, sitting next to Paul.
“Seb!” Bridget’s smile widened, practically glowing as she saw her grandson approach. “Oh, these must be your two friends, right?”
Miranda and Madison greeted her in unison, “Hello, Mrs. Landon Senior!”
“Oh, hello, hello–what sweet youngsters.”
