Miranda was momentarily taken aback, then she laughed. Of course, I brought some for him too! Here, will you take it to him for me?” 

“Sure thing!” 

Miranda took out a few extra jars and placed them in her car 

“You’re the best, Miranda!” 

“I think you and Sebastian are a pretty good match too.” 

With that, she got out of the car and walked toward her building, dragging her suitcase along. Madison didn’t catch the underlying meaning in Miranda’s words and happily pulled out her phone. “Hello, Seb! Are you at the apartment? I’m bringing you some beef jerky and marmalade! Yes, it’s from Miranda.” 

On the other end, Sebastian replied, “I’m here. You can come over.” 

“Got it! I’ll be there in 20 minutes.” 

“Okay” 

After hanging up, Sebastian bolted downstairs. He threw on his jacket and shoes. “Grandma, I’m not eating lunch at home today. As for dinner… I’m not coming back either!! 

“Where are you going?” 

“Back to the apartment!” 

“Huh? Didn’t you say you’d stay for a meal today?” 

Sebastian was already out the door. He shouted a reply, “I’m not eating!” 

“This child… What in the world could be so urgent?” 

Meanwhile, Miranda stopped at the foot of her building to catch her breath. She glanced at the suitcase beside her, then looked up at the seventh floor. As she debated whether to make two trips, someone had already picked up her suitcase and walked up the stairs. 

“Huh?” Miranda blinked in surprise. 

Paul turned to look at her when he didn’t hear footsteps following him. “Aren’t you coming upstairs?” 

Coming to her senses, Miranda smiled and caught up. “I’m coming.” 

He carried the large suitcase with ease, climbing all seven flights of stairs without breaking a sweat. Miranda couldn’t help but feel envious, seeing how easy it was for him. “Thank you, Dr. Jefferson.” 

Paul set the suitcase down and gestured for her to open the door. “Since I’m already carrying it, I might as well carry it inside.” 

Miranda quickly pulled out her keys and opened the door. Then, she invited him in. 

Paul changed into slippers without hesitation and carried the suitcase into the living room. “Well, I’ll be going 

now.” 

Miranda stopped him. “Wait a moment.”

Raising an eyebrow, Paul watched as she crouched down and opened the suitcase on the spot. Inside, the suitcase was divided into four compartments of various sizes. The marmalade and beef jerky were separated nearly in bags. 

Lionel even thoughtfully secured everything with clips so Miranda could take them out easily. 

“You said last time that you liked my dad’s me to bring you more this time, 

armalade, and I mentioned it to him. He was so pleased that he asked 

“Here, this whole bag is for you. He specially told me to give it to Dr. Jefferson. There are orange and lemon flavors inside, and both taste great when spread on bread.” 

Paul didn’t decline. “Thank your father for me.” 

He and Lionel had added each other on WhatsApp. Sometimes, Lionel would ask Paul for help if he couldn’t find certain papers. Over time, they ended up more like friends than anything else. 

Miranda added, “My dad also said he’d like to play chess with you again when he’s back in Elgerson.” 

Paul replied, “He’s more than welcome.” 

Although the college was officially on break, there was no such thing as summer or winter vacation for postgraduate students. 

Especially for Miranda, there was little time to rest as she had to work on research projects and write up papers. Thus, the Faculty of Bioinformatics continued with its monthly review meetings.
