Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is When Fate Plays Its Hand (Miranda and Hansel). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Plays Its Hand 929. Let's read the author's When Fate Plays Its Hand (Miranda and Hansel) Internet story right here.
Chapter 0929
Miranda spoke in a tone that was neither hot nor cold, her attitude as indifferent as always.
Elizabeth couldn’t help but glance inside the room. “Have you seen Dr. Jefferson?”
“Yes, we met at the banquet. We came back together.”
“And after that?” Elizabeth asked anxiously.
“After what?” Miranda looked puzzled.
“After returning from the banquet. Did he come to see you?”
Miranda frowned and gave her a strange look. “Should Dr. Jefferson come to see me at this hour?”
“I… I didn’t mean it that way.” Elizabeth forced a dry laugh.
Miranda scrutinized her from head to toe. Suddenly, a sharp glint flashed in her eyes. “You’re acting strange right now. Did something happen to Dr. Jefferson?”
With that, Miranda stepped forward, as if she was about to go knock on Paul’s door. Elizabeth quickly stopped her. “You. What are you doing? Dr. Jefferson must already be resting. Why would you go and disturb him?”
“Then what did you mean by that.earlier?” Miranda pressed on.
“What… What do you mean? I was just asking a casual question to see if Dr. Jefferson had come to find you. Why? Is that not allowed?”
After saying that, Elizabeth turned and walked back to her own room. She muttered as she went, “You’re so nosy! As if someone is trying to harm you…”
Elizabeth dared not linger any longer nor ask further questions. She feared that Miranda would see through her ruse and continue pressing for answers. She just wanted to leave as quickly and as far away as possible, let alone find an excuse to enter Miranda’s room. Miranda closed her door and took a deep breath before heading toward the bathroom. The large bathtub was filled with water. Not only that, but the water had overflowed onto the bathroom floor because the faucet had been left running. The whole floor was wet. Miranda stepped into the water and approached the bathtub. A man was lying inside his bathrobe partially open. His eyes were tightly shut as he submerged himself completely in the cold water, his breathing restrained. Despite his efforts, his cheeks seemed to be unnaturally flushed.
The man was none other than Paul, who had vanished from his room! He slowly opened his eyes when he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
Miranda froze when their gazes met. His eyes, which were usually calm and composed, were

now bloodshot and fogged over. Through the haze in his eyes, she could see the struggle, restraint, and torment buried deep within.
“Dr. Jefferson…” she called to him softly.
Paul’s darkened eyes were as deep as an abyss. He said through gritted teeth, “Who was it?”
Miranda remained silent.
“Tell me,” he pressed.
She could only reply truthfully, “Elizabeth.”
Paul let out a bitter laugh at the mention of her name. His laugh was filled with realization and anger on top of burning hatred and disgust.
Miranda saw that his breathing had grown more labored. “You can’t stay in the water any longer. Get up now!”
“Leave,” Paul said.
Miranda was stunned.
Paul emphasized each word deliberately. “Get out now! Leave immediately!”
“How can I leave you alone in this state?” Miranda almost laughed out of frustration. Yet, Paul still had the audacity to be fierce.
