Chapter 231 Evil Will Be Punished
Gosh, I've fallen into a trap!
Isabel had suspected Jessica's malicious intent long before arriving and had taken precautions. However, Yvette's pregnancy made protecting her a priority, leaving Isabel flustered and vulnerable. Never in her wildest thoughts did she imagine Jessica would spring such a devious ambush.
Given Jessica's character, Isabel doubted she had the nerve to use Yvette as a pawn in her schemes—it was too extreme, with risks of imprisonment if exposed.
The sound of a door slamming shut echoed through the room, followed by Jessica's chillingly gleeful voice.
"Surround her! Don't let her escape!"
Isabel blinked rapidly, trying to clear her vision, but her eyes stung more with every attempt. The world around her blurred into indistinct shapes.
"Jessica, what are you planning?"
Jessica erupted into a malicious laugh, her twisted smile radiating pure spite. "What am I planning? Didn't you humiliate and disgust me before? Today, I've brought a dozen creepy old men, all more terrifying than Mr. Wright. I've drugged them, and I'll enjoy watching you suffer!
"Oh, I also called the police. By the time they show up, you'll be caught in the act. I even tipped off the reporters. By tomorrow, you'll be the most infamous hooker in Solaria!"
Jessica's expression brimmed with vengeful satisfaction, her imagination running wild with Isabel's downfall.
Isabel stayed cautious, her sharp eyes narrowing. "Jessica, who gave you the nerve to pull something like this?"
Though Jessica had meticulously planned everything, Isabel doubted she had the guts to come up with such a scheme alone.
Jessica was cunning and hypocritical, but not bold enough for something this extreme. Someone else had to be behind it. But who?
Remaining calm, Isabel reviewed the recent events and people she had angered, quickly narrowing her suspicion to one individual.
Still, it was only a theory—no solid evidence. Perhaps Jessica had just been pushed too far and lost all sense of reason.
"Where's Yvette?" Isabel asked sharply.
"Hah! You should worry about yourself first!" Jessica sneered. "Yvette insulted me repeatedly. I won't let her off easily!" Her voice trembled with resentment.
Isabel's expression darkened. Thankfully, she had alerted Max ahead of time, or Yvette might have been in grave danger.
She silently hoped Max had arrived in time.
While Isabel was lost in thought, Jessica approached her, holding a glass of water. "Drink this. It'll ease the pain later and even let you enjoy what's coming."
Isabel showed a mocking smile. "You sound like you've got plenty of experience with this sort of thing."
Jessica's face contorted with rage, her eyes bloodshot as she snapped, "Isabel, you should cooperate. We were like sisters once, so I prepared this specially for you. Drink it, or you'll regret it."
After a brief silence, Isabel sighed. "Fine, you win. With so many people here, escaping is impossible anyway. Hand it over."
Since Isabel couldn't see, Jessica placed the glass directly into her hand.
Pretending to accept it, Isabel suddenly grabbed Jessica's arm, yanking her forward and locking her in a firm chokehold.
"Agh—" Jessica cried out in pain.
Without hesitation, Isabel tilted the glass, forcing the water into Jessica's mouth.
"You—ugh—" Jessica coughed and gagged, trying desperately to spit it out, but Isabel's grip only grew tighter.
Jessica's muffled protests faded into gasps and chokes as she thrashed about, her eyes rolling in panic.
At that moment, the old men who had been drugged earlier began reacting, their movements turning aggressive as they charged forward.
Jessica's face turned pale with shock as she watched the chaotic scene unfold.
"I-Isabel, let go of me! Quickly!" she stammered, her voice trembling.
Isabel smirked. "Sure."
Without hesitation, Isabel shoved Jessica straight into the group of old men.
