Chapter 289 Leslie Is Still Alive
Xander's question completely stumped Samuel.

"I don't know! I couldn't read Isabe's mind," Samuel replied. But as he spoke, his thoughts drifted to the emerald guardian angel pendant in Isabel's hand.

"From what I can tell, Isabel's appearance is almost certainly connected to that pendant."

Xander had the same thought, and now he was nearly certain.

A few months ago, Isabel had come to his room quietly, late at night, while he was out. She was there to find the safe.

Later, he opened the safe in front of her, offering her the chance to take whatever she wanted from it.

But that was part of his plan. He wanted to see what Isabel was after.

What he never expected was that Isabel's target would be the pendant.

Why would she want it?

Suddenly, a name popped into Xander's head.

"Leslie!"

"What?" Samuel blinked in confusion. "What's going on? Why are you suddenly mentioning Leslie?"

"It's impossible. She can't be."

Samuel was baffled. "Impossible? What do you mean? Why mention Leslie now?"

Samuel's eyes widened in realization. "Wait, are you suggesting that Isabel might be Leslie?"

"She can't be," Xander immediately dismissed the idea.

"Of course not! How could Isabel be Leslie? Leslie would be 26 by now, but Isabel is only 23.

"Besides, Leo did a thorough investigation. Isabel is Colin's daughter. She's a real person.

After speaking, she noticed Richie hadn't moved at all. She turned to look at him in confusion.

Richie was staring down at the floor, lost in thought. He seemed deep in contemplation.

"What's on your mind?" Isabel asked, puzzled.

Richie pressed his lips together, then lifted his eyes to meet Isabel's.

"Do you think Leslie is still alive?"

Isabel's lips trembled slightly, her pupils flickering.

She didn't know whether she was Leslie. Although she was almost sure, she couldn't say it for certain.

"Are you quiet because Xander told you Leslie was practically his fiancée? And you didn't know how to answer that?" Richie guessed, his voice soft.

Isabel replied truthfully, "It's not that."

Richie studied her carefully. "You don't need to hide it. Everyone wants Leslie to marry Xander, but I-I don't want that."
