Isabel was so angry she immediately bit down.

The next day, Isabel's mouth was swollen, and the man's lip was wounded.

The unluckiest person, however, was Samuel, who sat across from the two. The constant displays of affection made it impossible for him to eat his meal.

Just then, Leo rushed into the room.

Seeing Leo, Isabel wondered if there had been progress in the Nelsons' case.

Before Xander could ask, Leo spoke first.

"Boss, we've found something!"

"Go ahead," Xander said in a single word.

Leo wasted no time and continued, "We traced the clues to 20 years ago and finally found a new lead at an orphanage. According to the retired director of the orphanage, Will Brown, they took in a little girl back then."

"Orphanage!" Isabel exclaimed.

Xander and the others all turned to look at her.

Isabel blinked and quickly recovered. "Oh, I didn't hear that properly. Cough, cough, continue, continue!"

Though her face appeared calm, Isabel's mind was in turmoil!

Because 20 years ago, she had woken up in an orphanage. After waking, she couldn't remember anything about her past.

Leo picked up from where he'd been interrupted, "When Will found the little girl, she was filthy and had a high fever. She was sick for three days before it finally went down. Once the fever broke, she was completely blank—no memories at all. But one thing stood out: she was terrified of fire."

She did everything she could to escape, running as far away as possible.

As Isabel continued, she noticed Xander standing up.

"Where are you going?" Isabel snapped back to reality and asked.

"I'm going to find that young couple. You stay here and finish your meal," Xander replied as he walked toward the hallway to change his shoes.

"I'm coming with you!" Isabel quickly put her bowl down and hurried after him.

As they walked, Isabel noticed the strange look in Xander's eyes.

It didn't take long for her to realize that, in the Nelsons' case, she was an outsider. Acting so urgently would surely raise suspicions.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm just bored lately. Besides, this sounds interesting," Isabel said, unsure if her excuse would convince him, but she figured it was better than saying nothing.
