ROSE
I walked inside the house and looked in the living room and the office, but neither Mom nor Dad was anywhere. So I walked upstairs and met Noah on my way up there.
“Hey, sis, why are you here so late?” He asks.
“Hey bro, I need to talk with Mom and dad,” I tell him.
“They said they were going to go train in the forest. Is everything okay?” he asked me. I felt the tears push and shook my head.
“Hey, now, no crying. Come.” He says, leading me into his room.
I have not often been in here, as we all like our privacy. But I am always shocked to see how clean his room is. We sit down on his two lounge chairs, and he looks at me.
“What’s wrong sis? Is it the issue with Enzo and that Alpha? You don’t think it’s true, do you?” He asks and I shake my head.
“No, I know he wasn’t lying to me. But it’s my fault all this is happening.” There I said it, I said what bothers me.
“It can never be your fault.” He says, and I start crying.
Noah stands up, comes over, and sits with me, holding me close. I’m surprised by how big he already is.
“It’s not your fault.” He says again, and I keep crying.
“You don’t understand.” I manage to say.
“Then explain it sis. Please.” He asks me.
“It’s my biological mom who went and told Carlos that because she saw Enz, he looked like his dad, like you look like dad. So she figured it out. And probably did this because she hates me.” I manage to say. And I feel the atmosphere of the room grow thick with anger.
“Fuck her, sis. She is a bitch, don’t tell mom I said that. But Mia is a bitch, for more than one reason, not just this. She abandoned you, and Dad because she didn’t like what she got handed. Because what she got was not in her plans. She decided to leave and hurt the most caring and loving soul, that she could have had in her life.
She did this, sis, not you. You did not sit there in front of her and said. My mate is the surviving son of the dead Alpha. You didn’t tell her to go tell their enemy.
All you wanted was answers to end a pain inside of you. That doesn’t make you a bad person. Or mean, this is your fault. Because it is not,” Noah said, and I stared at him.
“What?” He asks.
“When did you get so grown up,” I ask, and he chuckles.
“I have been for a while, sis. I do actually listen to what you all tell me,” he says and smiles at me.
