NOAH
I had just showered and gotten clean clothes on when I felt her sadness, Madeleine.
‘Are you okay, Beautiful?’ I ask her in mindlink, and she takes her time to answer me.
‘Yes, I am okay. I just finished getting cleaned up.’ She tells me.
‘Good, I just ask because I felt sadness from you.’ I tell her.
‘Oh, it is nothing serious. I was talking with your mother about my sister.’ She tells me.
‘I understand. I will be there soon, and I can take you for a small walk if you want to.’ I say and wait.
‘That sounds nice, thank you.’ She says, and it makes me smile.
I took my shoes on, left the castle, and walked towards the houses. I stepped inside the house and froze immediately. I could smell Madeleine, her family, Mom, Kendra, and Gina.
Shit, I thought, and my thoughts went in a spiral. I knew they would meet one day, but I had yet to expect it to be so soon. Was this why she had been sad and not because of her sister? I was trying to get my thoughts under control when Madeleine came down the stairs with a smile on her beautiful face.
“I.” I try to say something, but she stops me.
“I know, and it’s okay. She is here to help with my sister. And you are right, and she does seem like a nice person.” Madeleine says softly as I put my arms around her and try to calm down.
“I am sorry,” I whisper, but she shakes her head.
“No, don’t be. I am not mad.” She assures me and stands on her toes to give me a kiss, and I bend my head down to hers.
We stand here for a bit, Madeleine in my arms, when we hear footsteps. Mom, Kendra, Gina, and Madeleine’s mother come downstairs, and Madeleine softly leaves my arms but takes my hand.
“Make sure she gets plenty of rest. The last few days have been hard for her.” Kendra says, and Madeleine’s mother nods her head.
“Thank you, both of you.” She says to Kendra and Gina.
“You're welcome to call us any time,” Kendra says, and Gina bows her head but is silent.
I look at her and wonder why she is as pale as a dead body right now, and she seems like she needs to throw up. I am not the only one who notices, and Madeleine lets go of my hand and walks over to her.
“Gina, are you okay? You so pale.” Madeleine ask, her concerned.
“I… yes, I am okay. Thank you.” Gina says, but Madeleine doesn’t believe her.
“Please, you look as if you can pass out. Be nice, and make sure to get some rest.” Madeleine says, and I feel the concern and care pouring through our matebond. She is amazing.
