GINA
I was a bit in shock when I met Noah’s mate today and even more when I experienced what Noah had told me. She was indeed a sweet person, and she did not one look at me as if I was something disgusting. Even after she knew I was the girl Noah had been with before, he had felt their matebond.
No, she had let me go upstairs to help doctor Kendra. I had been in my own little bubble of shock but also relief when I stepped into Juliette’s room. And then it hit me: her scent and the pull I had lost almost two years ago when David was killed. I looked at the girl for ages and got sad that she was in an awake, coma-like state. Kendra had told me that she had been told that Juliette hadn't spoken a word for over 6 months.
Kendra looked at me as I helped her and asked me several times if I was okay. I had told her I was, not wanting to say to her what I felt. I was careful not to touch Juliette directly, not wanting to cause any disturbance.
I did not want to leave when we were done, but I knew I had to get out of there. And I had done just that as fast as I could.
I had been a mess all day, trying to find out what to do, and the last person I had expected to meet tonight was Noah’s mate. But here she was, sitting next to me, just as shocked as I was when I finally told her that her sister was my mate.
“Have you ever been into girls before?” She asks me.
“Before I met David, my mate, I liked both girls and guys, so yes. I had a girlfriend when I was younger.” I tell her honestly there is no point in lying.
“Dad and Mom don’t know, but Juliette had a girlfriend too.” She said and smiled.
So Juliette had also been with a girl, which made things make a bit more sense. But she is still the sister of the girl who is Noah’s mate, and I had been with Noah. What a mess.
“It’s a mess,” I whisper, and she giggles.
“Maybe a little. But maybe more one needs to know about you and Noah, other than us and Juliette.” She says seriously.
“Noah’s family knows, and I am sure most in this pack do too,” I tell her, and she nods her head.
“Well, there must be a reason why the moon goddess made you mates. And as long you are good to my sister, you have my blessings.” She says.
“Thank you, princess,” I whisper.
“Please call me Madeleine or Maddie.” She says.
“But.” I begin, but she stops me.
“You are about to become family, past or not, omega or not. Family don’t use titles.” She says and smiles.
“Thank you for being like this despite everything,” I tell her as we stand up.
