Edward considered the question for a moment before he answered hesitantly, "There was a blind date arranged for me, but the other party was not interested in me."

"Why would they have no interest in you?" Nicholas looked astonished and glanced at Edward curiously.

Edward scratched his head and replied awkwardly, "When the other party heard that I was just an assistant, they felt that I had no future prospects. Therefore, they refused the marriage."

"I bet you probably misinformed them on purpose." Nicholas immediately exposed Edward’s secret manipulation of the situation.

Edward laughed in embarrassment. "If I told them that I was your assistant, then I won't be able to see through their true character."

That was true. After all, it was important to marry a person for their good qualities.

Nicholas simply nodded in understanding and continued, "You're not young anymore. What plans do you have for your future? Should I ask my wife to introduce you to one of her friends?"

That night, he brought Mona to a hotel nearby and helped to book a room for her. He originally planned to leave after making sure that she was settled in the hotel. There was silence on the other side of the phone for some time, then Edward’s cold voice sounded. "Okay. I was just about to contact you, Miss Winters. I'll pick you up from the hotel in ten minutes."
