Chapter 122 A honest child 

“Ava, I’m not angry with you, but you have to tell me what happened.” 

She took a deep breath, then she looked at me finally. 

“I told him to go” 

“Why?” 

“I don’t like Amber. He doesn’t like her either. He had something important to do, and this way we both could escape.” 

I exhaled slowly. 

“Why? Do you like Amber, daddy? She looked at me with widened eyes and with a hint of fear. That made me laugh. 

“No, not even a bit, but still you shouldn’t show that to anyone, and G Gideon’s behaviour is just simply unacceptable.” 

“But daddy, if he doesn’t like her…. 

I looked at the ground, and I knew I shouldn’t do that, but I felt maybe my smart daughter knows much more than us. 

“And did he say where he’s going?” 

She moved her gaze to the ground again. I always taught her to be honest, even if it’s hard. Even if she did something terrible. I always made her understand she can’t do anything that would make me and her mum love her less. 

“But daddy, I promised him I won’t tell anyone, especially not for you.” 

“Ava, you know what I abeys tell you.” 

“Yes, daddy, but how could I be reliable if I’m not keeping my promise?” 

“Ava, I’m your dad first and if you are honest with me, that doesn’t mean you would be unreliable, secondly I understand that is your secret, and I won’t tell anyone, of course.” 

She hesitated a bit. I knew she only needed a few minutes. She slowly lifted her gaze, and she looked into my eyes. 

“He is looking for Alice, and he promised me I can be the first one to meet her as soon as possible.” 

I looked at the ground. At that moment, I could really tear Gideon apart. I couldn’t believe how he could do that to a little child. I believed Alice could be dead by now, but even if she was alive, probably Riccardo wouldn’t let Gideon get close to her. Not to mention with this, my stupid brother only provoked them, so he could easily end up with a bullet in his head. I was angry with him for sure, but I couldn’t take that if that would happen. I tried. to hide my frustration from Ava. 

“Come on, Ava, we are going back. Do not talk about this to anyone, okay?”

I stopped, then I looked down at her. Her eyes became teary. I lifted her up into my arms and I kissed her cheek while I held her tight.

proud of you.” 

“Really?” she asked. 

Chapter 122 An honest child 

“Yes.” I kissed her cheek again. A small smile appeared on her face finally, and she leaned her head on my shoulder. 

No one noticed we disappeared for a few minutes except Leah. She looked at me worriedly. I used my countenance to show her I was successful, and I know everything, and I’m not happy at all. She bit her lower lip and looked at the ground. I really wanted to talk to her. Leah hated this situation as well, and she was more sensitive than any of us in the family. I wanted to calm her down at first, but I also wanted to know what she was thinking. I wanted to hear her opinion. 

Ava walked to her and sat down. Leah pulled her closer, and the little one leaned her head on her mother’s chest. We sat there quietly for a while, when dad stepped to us. 

“Have you seen Gideon?” 

I took a deep breath. 

“He left, dad. He said he has something important to do.” 

His facial expression changed instantly. His face reddened, and his anger was also written on it. 

He looked at mum for a second, then he took a deep breath. 

“Come with me, Seth.”
