Bang!
Her forehead slammed against the glass window. It was slightly painful. Sophia rubbed her forehead lightly and was about to lift her head to see what was happening.
The driver was grumbling to himself, but in the end, he still got out of the car.
When he saw that he had run into a Bentley, his face turned green.
“Such horrible luck. I kept saying that I won’t have good luck transporting disreputable people out of jail, and indeed, there’s nothing good about this…”
Sophia was getting out of the car when she was pushed by the bad-tempered driver. She fell heavily into the snow.
There was a crowd gathering around them to see what was going on. Most of them were looking down on her. Her face went pale, and she lowered her head. She felt ashamed and hurt.
Then, a pair of meticulously polished leather shoes appeared in her vision.
She hesitated. She looked up, her gaze following the person’s suit pants. Eventually, she saw the face that had appeared multiple times in her dreams before.
The year Sophia was born, Madam White hired someone to read her fortune. That person said everything would go smoothly for her in the first 20 years of her life. However, in the latter half of her life, she would suffer tremendously.
She did not expect that the prophecy would unfortunately come true.
Charles Harris looked even more handsome and tougher than two years ago. However, his loathing gaze for her was still the same as two years ago.
She looked at him blankly. After a while, she finally realized how pathetic she looked. She lowered her head again and struggled to get up. However, when she was about to move, he placed his black umbrella on her shoulder.
“I haven’t seen you in two years, and you’ve become mute? Don’t you know how to say hi?”
Her leg was in tremendous pain. Her knees felt like they were being stabbed by needles when he pressed down on her with his umbrella. It was so cold, and yet there was a layer of sweat on her forehead. She gritted her teeth and said in a trembling voice, “M-Mr. Harris, long time no see.”
Charles towered over her, and he looked at her arrogantly. He had not gotten a clear look when he was in the car. It was only when he got out of the car did he realize that it was her. He had forgotten that today was the day she got out.
