Sure enough, the stairwell was quiet and much more spacious.

However, Sophia did not dare to go along when she was unsure of Nicole’s motives. Who knew whether someone was already there waiting to ambush her?

“I drank quite a lot of fruit tea, I think I need to use the restroom so let’s just go there,” Sophia said.

Nicole frowned. “There might be people at the restroom so it might be inconvenient for us to talk. It’s fine if you don’t want to go to the stairwell, we can just talk when we get home.”

“There’s not a lot of people in the hotel now, why don’t we first check out the restroom? If there’s nobody there, we can stay and talk. If not, we’ll figure something else. Does that work?” The more Nicole tried to convince her to go to the stairwell, the more uneasy Sophia felt.

Nicole glanced at the stairwell door casually and hesitated for a moment before nodding her head.

Sophia kept quiet about Nicole’s subtle action and cast a look in the same direction as well but saw nothing.

Once they entered the restroom, Nicole checked around to see if there was anyone while Sophia straightaway went into one of the cubicles. She locked the door behind her and immediately texted Charles.

[Nicole kept looking at the stairwell just now, can you go and check if see there’s anything up?]

[Got it.]

Sophia deleted the chat history and put away her phone, Then, she flushed the toilet and walked out.

There was no one else in the restroom aside from the two of them. Upon seeing her, Nicole quickly asked, “Soph, it’s already the sixth day, have you made up your mind?”

“Nicole, I thought about it and I have decided to stay with Charles,” Sophia replied.

A frown instantly spread across Nicole’s face. “Do you not believe me?”

“... I do.” Sophia clenched her fist and mustered all her energy to control the surging rage that rose in her body.

It was because she trusted Nicole so much that she felt such immense pain after finding out that Nicole had framed Charles and deceived her!

Nicole was confused. “If you believe me, why would you still choose to stay with Mr. Harris then? Do you love him that much that you can look over the fact that he had indirectly caused Mom to commit suicide?”

“Nicole, please don’t misunderstand this.” Sophia gave her a bitter smile as she continued, “If I just leave Charles after he killed Mom, how can I possibly avenge Mom? With his power and influence, it’s practically impossible for us to stand a chance against him!”

She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists furiously. “I want to stay with Charles so I can let him trust me wholly, and when he finally lets down his guard against me, I’ll be able to unravel some of Harris Corporation’s top trading secrets and sell them to their business rivals. I will ruin them to avenge Mom’s death!”

It was most likely that Nicole suddenly made this false accusation against Charles for business purposes.

If that was the case, Nicole would surely agree with this proposal!

However, Nicole turned down the idea without hesitation. “No! If you do that, Mr. Harris and the rest of the Harris family would never forgive you!”

On one hand, she wanted to set Charles up, and on the other, she would not let Sophia go up against him. What in the world was her sister-in-law trying to achieve?

Was it possible that Leah or perhaps Master Harris had ordered Nicole to convince her to leave Charles?

Or was it possible… that Nicole had intentions toward Charles?

“Soph, I’m begging you! You don’t have to avenge Mom’s death, you just need to leave Mr. Harris as soon as possible and I assure you that I’ll figure out a way to send you abroad.” Nicole took Sophia’s hands in hers and softened her tone. “Please?”

The wariness in her eyes did seem genuine and Sophia could not decide whether her sister-in-law’s acting skills were too good or did she have her difficulties and reasons.

“No. I will never forgive whoever indirectly caused Mom’s death, no matter who the person is! What do you think, Nicole?” Sophia kept a careful gaze on Nicole.

Nicole’s eyes flashed. “We can discuss this later. We have been gone for quite some time now, we should get back now in case Mr. Harris or your brother suspects something.”
