Chapter 389 Can You Come Over Now novel Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!
“I don’t think that’s possible. The two people you have sent over to watch my niece and nephew are still here. What if I go over now and something happens to my niece and nephew? How am I supposed to face my brother and sister-in-law then?”
Sophia tried to suppress the rage that surged through her body. The more aggravated she was right now, the easier it was to be thrown into passivity.
Her current situation was already passive enough for her.
After a moment of contemplation, Sylvia replied, “If that’s what you’re worried about, it’s nothing.”
With that, she said to someone beside her, “Leila, call the two of them and have them come back right now.”
The person by the name of Leila mumbled a response.
Then, Sylvia continued, “What about now, little girl? Can you come over now?”
“How do I know you’re not just putting on a show for me?” Sophia replied.
Sylvia was in no hurry. “Charles is already in jail now, he’s my bargaining chip if I need anything from you so your niece and nephew are no longer needed anymore. However, I can understand your concerns. Just wait for a minute, they shouldn’t take long to leave the house.”
From what she was saying, it seemed that she had really asked her two subordinates who were watching the twins leave.
Still, Sophia refused to believe her so easily. There was nothing wrong with being cautious anyway.
The night was cold and Sophia was particularly sensitive to the cold now. Her hand had turned red after holding her phone for a while out in the chill.
About three to five minutes later, two people walked out of the house.
They walked to Sophia and bowed in front of her respectfully. “Ms. White, we’re the ones taking care of the little young madam and little young master. Would you like to come with us to see Ms. Yates, or would you prefer to go over by yourself?”
There was no way Sophia would go to meet Sylvia alone. She gave her bodyguards a look, signaling them to grab hold of the two maids.
The two bodyguards replied with a firm nod.
However, before they even took action, Sylvia’s voice sounded from the phone. “I believe my helper just asked you a question, why are you taking so long to reply? Sophia, you’re not thinking of using them to threaten me, are you?”
“You’re overthinking.” This was certainly what Sophia had in mind, and she did not like the feeling of having her plans exposed.
“You should know better than me whether I’m overthinking. However, I would advise you not to do that or Charles might suffer in jail,” Sylvia said.
Sophia instantly frowned. “If you can make Charles suffer in jail, don’t you think I’ll do the same to your helpers?”
Sylvia laughed out loud as if she had just heard a hilarious joke. “I can’t be bothered even if you kill them, I just need to pay a little extra sum of money to their families.”
“Let them go,” Sophia turned around and ordered her bodyguards as her grip around her phone tightened.
The feeling of being constrained made her feel as if she was locked up in a sealed space, and everywhere she touched was just a wall but she could not find an exit.
She felt frustrated, mad, and helpless!
The bodyguards let go of the two women.
“Alright, I have expressed my sincerity. You should be able to come and meet me now, shouldn’t you? Sophia, you already turned me down twice and I really hope there won’t be a third.”
Sophia was forced into a dead-end once again. With no other alternatives, she gritted her teeth and agreed.
She went into the house and gave the maids strict orders before asking her bodyguards to send her and the two helpers over to Sylvia’s place.
The only thing to be thankful for now was that Sylvia did not specify for her to go over alone.
Sylvia resided in a villa located in the outskirts. Although she was a retired award-winning actress, her villa was much more luxurious and grand than the White family’s manor.
