Marie took Megan's bag of specialties and told Sophia to go to work on time tomorrow. Then, she left gracefully.

"Tell me, Sophia. What is Ms. Marie thinking?" Megan closed the dorm door, puzzled. "Why is she keeping Tiffany? What good is there?"

Sophia shook her head and said, "I don't know." She took the cleaning tools and carefully swept the hair on the floor.

"I think Ms. Marie won't fire Tiffany because she has someone behind her back!" Megan sat back on the bed thoughtfully. "Sophia, before your parents acknowledge your existence, try to be polite to Tiffany."

Sophia dumped the hair into the trash can and replaced the bag with a new trash bag before lightly saying, "I was nice to her before. Did she appreciate it?"

Megan thought carefully. "... She seemed to curse harder."

"Yup." Sophia went to take out the garbage. When she came back, Megan was standing in the middle of the dorm with her phone in her hand. Her eyes were swollen with tears.

Sophia pursed her lips, went over, and handed her some tissues.

Megan took the tissue and blew her nose. With her eyes red, she sobbed. "He broke up... with me."

"Wipe your face." Sophia froze, handed her the whole box of tissues, and silently took the trash can.

Megan pulled out some tissues, thrust them at the corner of her eye to wipe, and casually threw them on the floor.

Sophia looked at the trash can just a few feet away, then looked at the tissues outside the trash can. She pursed her lips.

"You know what he said?" Megan sniffed and tears once again took over her face. She was confused, angry, and helpless. "He said he couldn't stand me being with other men. To… To think that I've slept with other men made him think... Think I'm dirty...

"Am I not doing all this for him? Speaking of which, he was the one who found the first man. After that incident, I wanted to break up with him. He said he was a jerk, that he did me wrong, and that he would never... Never turn his back on me because of this and break up... with me!"

"However, now... He... He said he can’t take it anymore, that he has a crush on a recent college graduate under his command. He said he's sorry, but he no longer loves me..."

With tears in her eyes, Megan grabbed Sophia's arm and croaked, "Do you think I haven't done enough for him? Why would he do... Do this to me?"

Sophia just handed her tissues and said nothing.

It was hard to tell who was right and wrong in things like feelings.

For the next month or so, Sophia kept on with her job at Dream Club.

It was just that maybe because Yvette hosted her birthday party, so the people who came to Dream Club stopped pestering her and stopped using any kind of obscene language on her. They would at most notice her beauty and take a few more glances.

Sawyer made several hostile visits to Dream Club, but Marie stopped Sawyer from bothering Sophia.

William and Audrey's engagement party took place on National Day.

The Jones wanted to borrow Sophia under the pretext of not having enough waiters. Sterling immediately hired a hundred men and women who were around five feet tall and were below-average looking to wait on the Jones. This was apparently an early gift for William and Audrey. This caused the Jones and the Sommers to make a fool of themselves in front of all their guests.

Other than that, she had not seen nuisances like Charles or Leah in over a month. Sophia had put on a few pounds. At least she no longer looked like someone that a gust of wind could easily blow away.

"It's your day off. Want to go shopping?" After breaking up with her boyfriend, Megan looked so gaunt that even heavy makeup could not hide her pale face and dark eye circles.
