Right now, Enoch looks half a corpse and half a god. 

“This bastard has no place in this pack. Not to mention, an Omega brought him.” 

“I would suspect even the Gamma just took you in a stray, unable to turn his back on your poor ass.” 

“Whoever told him to train must be sick in the head if they think we’ll accept him.”

Enoch was the only person who was with me through thick and thin, and in a short span of time, he was able to show me what someone listening to you would actually feel.

“I told you I will train him.” Hecrosses his arms, narrowing his eyes at Enoch who‘;s being continuously beaten. I was about to walk over again when the Gamma stopped me a second time by my arm. 

“Stay, your little boyfriend’s not as weak as you think he is.” 

I definitely do not think he’s weak after how he smiled at me after brutally unaliving that wild rogue. Enoch is not weak, but that doesn’t mean I’m okay with watching him getting persecuted by people he doesn’t even know! 

“You know Enoch isn’t accepted here, Gamma!” I cry out, trying to pull my arm away from his tight grasp–he’s claiming his fingers onto my skin. I can almost feel it in my bones. 

“But he’s going to stay here, is he not?” Gamma Abel narrows his eyes at me. “You told me he has no one to go Taryn.”

I could feel my heart clawing out of my ribcage at his scrutiny, it’s almost nerve wracking. But I endured more to not get out of this

“Yes.” I stand straight, looking him in the eye as the lies seethe out of my sinful tongue, “Yes, he’s staying” 

He lets me go and I grip my arm as the goosebumps rose. “Then that kid’s going to have to learn a thing or two to blend in Gamma Abel crosses his arms, his tone clipped as he watches the scene from afar. 

I don’t attempt to walk away anymore, knowing he’s going to just pull me back again. “And what’s that?” I mutter under my breath, glancing at the old man for a quick second. 

He turns to me, fixating those black eyes I have respected so much since he took me and my dead brother’s corpse in the pack when I was thirteen. 

“-that who we are, and who we need to be to survive are two different things.” 

My face contorted in both awe and a strange dread tugging at my chest as I turned back to the scene. 

Enoch looks unfazed as the fucktards pull him off the ground. Maybe that is what’s making them feel the urge to wound him–his indifference. 

Being unaffected by their kicks and punches and any physical attempts that’s turning futile with Enoch is ripping their egos into pieces. That would also explain why none of them is facing him alone. 

They are afraid of him. 

Enoch is not part of this pack. Not after the Goddess outright rejected him. He bows to no one. Not the Alpha. Not the Gamma 

And perhaps he’s only tolerating me. He’s not good. He’s also not evil. 

But if you think about it, there’s no good nor evil in this world. 

There’s just power, and those too weak to seek them. 

“Watch,” I’m pulled out of my thoughts when the Gamma pointed at him. I focus onto them and I see Enoch slowly raising his gaze to everyone–those emerald eyes narrowing with each of his persecutors.

It happened so fast, the gust of wind and the sound of a crack which may or may not be someone’s jaw dislocating where Enoch landed his fist at. 

“You bastard!” The one holding him up throws a harsh kick behind him but it was cut off midair when Enoch grabs his knee with one hand and his foot with the other, and…

The sound of bones crunching echoed through the morning air when he breaks them.
