Willy picked up the blazer on the ground and frowned. Then, he draped a thin cardigan over Lauren's shoulders.

"Did she hurt you? Are you injured?" he asked, feeling concerned.

Lauren was surprised, and tilted her head to look at him. "I thought you were going to blame me for causing trouble..."

After all, his gaze earlier...

"You're not someone like that! If she didn't attack first, you wouldn't have fought back!" he said.

Moreover, it was obvious that Hallie was being hostile towards her earlier. Willy could guess what had happened by looking at the high heel footprint on his jacket in his hand.

She was already married, why was she still being so problematic?

Lauren was astonished, as she didn't expect a man that she wasn't too close to, to trust her so much, and couldn't help but to smile faintly.

"It wasn't me, it was an argument between Hallie and her husband... I just happened to come across it by accident!" she said.

She didn't like gossiping behind people's back, so she only gave a simple explanation. Willy was obviously a little shocked, and helped her up.

"It's cold out here, we should get back in!" he said.

"Okay!" she replied.

Back at the banquet hall, the two of them sat down for a while. Willy could sense Hallie's hostile gaze towards Lauren, and he didn't dare to be too far away from her at all. He didn't even dare to be more than three feet away from her when he grabbed some snacks for her to help her regain some energy.

As for Victoria, Trevor looked after her carefully while he held her while they walked around, as if he was taking care of a baby. He would use his body to open the way whenever there was a crowd as he was worried that she would fall and get hurt.

Needless to say, Frederick was on the next level of being a loving husband. Finally being able to reunite with Alicia after such a long time, his gaze was fixed on her for the entire party. Even Sharon was accompanied by Carson for the whole time. They bickered endlessly throughout the party, but they never separated. There weren't many guests that night, but everyone treated her well, and greeted her with smiles and graciousness. Looking at the scene, Hallie's mind was filled with fury.

That night, Christian was immersed in joy, and he didn't bother about her. Penny was occupied by her dissatisfaction, and didn't bother about her either. Mason had been reprimanded multiple times that night, and he couldn't even handle his own problems. Therefore, Hallie was left alone to be tormented by the sight of happiness of the others for the entire night.

By the time the party ended, she felt as if her heart was going to explode out of anger.

As Penny walked out, she noticed Hallie walking out alone. Before getting into the car, she asked nonchalantly, "Why are you alone? Where's Caven?"

Hallie felt unhappy, and there were still bruises on her arms. She wanted to tell her mother about her misery, but before she could start speaking, she received a scolding instead.

"You're not young anymore, you shouldn't only be thinking about businesses and travelling! It's been so long, why aren't you pregnant yet? You should definitely think of a solution to that, and get pregnant as soon as possible! That's what you should be doing! If nothing is helping, you should go and get a checkup!" Penny yelled.

Penny was furious, and she couldn't control the irritation and frustration in her tone. After speaking, she sighed, and got into the car, leaving Hallie behind. Hallie felt miserable and wronged, and she didn't know who to tell her sorrows to.

At last, she entered the car in dejection.

As soon as she adjusted her seat and looked forward, she caught sight of Willy walking Lauren out through the rearview mirror. The two of them seemed to be talking about something, and they seemed to be talking gently and sweetly. After that, Lauren got into Willy's car, and she could see that he not only opened the door for her, but also carried her bag for her.
