Meanwhile, observing the scene from afar, Hallie clenched her fists, her knuckles popping. Subconsciously, she brought her hand up to her still-masked face.

"D*mn it!"

Lauren froze, completely forgetting to react to his actions. When she came back to her senses, she was pulled out of her thoughts by a violent force. At that moment, she was half-hidden behind Willy, and Kylie was staring at her scornfully. One of Kylie's hands was still in mid-air, with her wrist clutched by Willy. She looked like she was about to pick a fight.

"What're you doing?"

Willie swung his hand and pushed Kylie away. He moved half a step back, shielding Lauren behind him. His face was totally ashen.

"Don't make me raise my hand against you! Scram!"

Kylie stumbled and bared her teeth. Hearing that, she stomped her foot angrily.

"You two... Lauren, you trashy b*tch, don't think that you can hide forever just because someone is protecting you! You hurt Zedd to this extent. Aren't you ashamed to go back to school?"

As she roared, Kylie's face turned into a grimace of distortion. Many people were watching the noisy scene. For a moment, Willy's face was very gloomy.

As soon as he was about to speak, Lauren suddenly stepped up.

"Those words that you've said, I'm directing them right back at you. God watches everything. You don't have to worry about me. I can eat and sleep well. Even if I have no support in life, I wouldn't stoop so low and steal someone's boyfriend, much less shamelessly defraud them of their feelings and money!"

Staring at her, Lauren was not intimidated or giving in to her at all.

"Those whose beliefs don't align would not work together! Kylie, don't you have me to thank? That man fell in love with me, but cheated me of all my money. Aren't you afraid that one day you will wind up in my footsteps as well? Also, don't tell me I should be afraid of you just because you're young, pretty and have a rich family. If we really are to compare these things, I'm worried that even all of you guys combined won't be enough to come against me!"

She was not a petty or nosy person and did not want to draw attention to herself. However, right then, Lauren was particularly reluctant to be misunderstood as people looked at them, even if they were just strangers.

She was telling the truth without exaggerating at all. However, to Kylie and Willy, her last sentence sounded weird. Kylie thought she was just putting on an air of superiority for show, while Willy thought that it was just her anger speaking.

"It's your business if you love him, but you have no reason to ask me to pay the price for your so-called love for you and him! So, stop bothering me! It's only ten years. Perhaps, his sentence will be reduced to five years. If you like him so much, why don't you behave yourself meanwhile?"

Once she was done, she tugged on Willy's shirt. "Let's go!"

As soon as they turned around, another roar came from behind them.

"You're disgustingly hypocritical! On one hand, you put up a pleasant looking front, but at the same time, you're trying to set him up while in prison. I just went to visit him, and he's lost his eligibility for a reduced sentence because of the fight! It's still uncertain if he'll ever get out for the rest of his life!"

When she snapped back, Kylie couldn't help gritting her teeth in anger.

"Hey! Don't be fooled by her playing the victim! Be careful, or you'll go down the same path as Zedd one day, and you won't even know what hit you!"

Obviously, the last sentence was addressed to Willy. Lauren paused for a moment, clearly shocked, but on the surface, she was calm.
