Waverly went limp at the end of the kiss, leaning on him. She couldn't even stand, let alone push him away.

Her gaze flashed with defiant anger as she glared at him, yet her eyes were enchantingly gorgeous in the night.

Wyatt had no clue what had gotten into him, shocked by his actions. She was the complete opposite of his type, yet he actually enjoyed the kiss?!

While she was still in a daze, Wyatt fixed her transgressive shirt as his gaze swept across her abnormally rosy cheeks, not giving himself time to think.

"It was my bad. But you've had your punches and vented your frustration, so why don't we each take a step back, hmm?"

There was an unconscious hint of dominance in Wyatt's tone.

Her mind was evidently blank, blinking her eyes, Waverly moved her lips but couldn't bring herself to form any words, yet her face still showed a sense of stubborn reluctance.

Not giving her another chance to throw a fit, Wyatt went behind and hugged her. "A wrongdoing calls for punishment. So give me a chance to make amends. How about shopping until your heart's content?"

His gentle words carried evident cajolery. Twitching her lips, Waverly didn't say anything, but she cast a haughty side-eye glance at him.

Knowing she had softened up, Wyatt let go of her and went to retrieve the stiletto she chucked at him earlier, striking while the iron was hot. As he turned around, he smirked and mocked.

Women; nothing money couldn't solve! Especially women like her!

He fiddled with the stiletto without realizing it after picking it up. As he got back up, he had returned to his calm self. Returning to Waverly, he got down and surprisingly lowered his stance, lifting her ankle, helping her put her shoe back on.

She never said a thing or moved an inch the entire time, but her gaze, like her stance, had softened a lot, not knowing whether it was because of his doting actions or that she had vented her anger.

Grabbing her shoulder, he bowed and lowed his head slightly, trying to keep his line of sight at her level, and pinched her cheek affectionately.

"C'mon, don't be angry anymore! Let's buy you some clothes first!"

His heart panged when he saw her standing dazedly, obviously upset, as her long lashes fluttered, her cheek still obviously flushed and swollen from the slap as she tried her best to swallow her tears. Moving behind her, he halfforceful ly pushed her toward the closest high-endlooking women's clothing store.

"Welcome..."

Inside, two female retail assistants pulled the double door open enthusiastically, only to freeze a few seconds when they saw who were walking in. One of the retail assistants came back to her senses and reacted.

"What an honor, Mr. Johnson. What can I do for you two?"

As she greeted them, she took a couple of looks at Waverly, who was in Wyatt's arms, with the corner of her eyes, thinking she didn't just look incongruous but absolutely disheveled!

"Bring out all your latest designs. All your clothes, shoes, bags, everything!"

The eyes of the two retail assistants lit up hearing that. "Of course! Have a seat here, please.."

The people further inside got to work as the retail assistant waved her hand. One of the retail assistants led the way while the other had already turned to the pantry, reading the room.

Though she loathed the Wright family and didn't think she should remain a widow, she was still a little conservative deep down. Or perhaps her mood was as glum as the mourning period that she had been wearing either black, white, or gray lately.

With a change of clothes, she no longer looked as disheveled, and her mood lifted much more.

The retail assistant presented her with shoes and handbags when she walked out of the fitting room. Before she could even react, Wyatt went behind her and signaled the retail assistant to cut out the price tag on her clothes.

"They are all the latest! Which one do you like, or do you like them all?"

Categorizing her as the gold digger type, Wyatt thought girls like her were definitely knowledgeable and picky. So he naturally didn't need to put too much effort in choosing; getting the lastest and most expensive would definitely be right. Actually, thinking about it, it required barely any effort!

Shooting him a glance, Waverly snorted dismissively. Had he really taken her a gold digger, dismissing her with money? Could he even afford to?

"We'll take them all!"

As she heard the heartachingly forthright voice, Waverly rolled her eyes at him. "I won't forgive you even if you buy them all. Where's your sincerity?"

A transparent handbag caught her attention as she swept her gaze around, deliberately pausing for a couple of seconds. Luckily someone wasn't dim. The next second, she picked up the doublelayered transparent handbag.

"Has your anger subsided a little?"

Hugging the bag, Waverly said, "No merit, no gain! But this doesn't count; this is rightfully mine!"
