"What's this?" Lauren thought.

Right as her lips curved into a smile, she froze, capturing a bowtie on the top of a squiggly snake.

"Is this..." Bree and its family?

Did the squiggly lines mean it was playing? The ring patterns did look a lot like Bree's scales. Yvette was still too little, so her drawing wasn't very intricate, and the colors were somewhat off. But when she looked closely, she could still tell the three squiggly lines were connected. They were probably 'holding hands', weren't they? The small one in the middle with the bowtie was probably Bree, and the one to its side with the long hair must be its mother while the one with a mustache must be its father!

Her baby girl still missed her pet snake, didn't she?

And this drawing...

A family?

Lauren's heart ached as she looked at it!

Returning from washing her hands, Yvette leaned against the dining table, which was still a little tall for her right then, and looked at the dishes. It was always a joy to watch her eat.

With that, Lauren bent over and carried her to her special stool and gave her her plate and cutlery before she sat down on one side. "Would you like some eggs, Yvette?"

Yvette nodded and took a spoonful of mashed potatoes before pointing at the roasted sausage and zucchini. "Green. I want sausage!"

"Okay, good girl!"

After scooping some sausage and zucchini into her plate, Lauren watched her baby daughter eat a spoonful after another, all merry!

Speaking of which, this little one never barely made her worry, and she wasn't a picky eater. She could even merrily eat boiled potatoes and steamed vegetables. Lauren also didn't want to be too careful with her. She always believed it wasn't a big deal if a child had a few scratches and suffered a little. Plus eating simple meals, Yvette was healthier, livelier, and not picky. She barely got sick, very easy to take care of.

Lauren put a few prawns into her plate and occasionally wiped her mouth. Yvette, on the other hand, just focused on her favorite dish, finishing more than half of her mashed potatoes in no time.

"Yvette, aren't you going to eat your prawns?"

Seeing that the prawns were piled up to the side, she was somewhat baffled. Yvette had loved eating them, but why did she only eat the sausage and zucchini this time?

Shaking her head, Yvette took another scoop of zucchini and sausage into her plate and emptied it in no time; a plateful of mashed potatoes and half a plate of roasted sausage and zucchini went into her little belly. Then Lauren handed her a cinnamon roll.

"Are you full? Have a cinnamon roll! Or do you prefer berry filling?"

"I'm full! Mommy, I want to draw!"

"Alright!"

With that, she wiped Yvette's hands. Seeing that she barely touched her food when her baby girl had already finished her meal, Lauren didn't know what to make of herself. After helping Yvette jump down from her seat, she set the drawing papers and crayons aside.

"No running right after eating, so stand here and draw, okay? How about we play in the yard after I've finished eating?"

"Okay!"

"Good girl!" Ruffling her hair affectionately, Lauren put everything in place for her to continue drawing before she went back to her plate.

After clearing the table, they strolled in the yard, and Yvette rode her little car for a while before Lauren took her inside for a shower and read her a story. The productive day came to an end as Yvette fell soundly asleep.

It was the same day after day; a simple life, but full of joy and surprises. Yvette was a bundle of joy the heavens gifted her. Lauren thought there wasn't anything she couldn't solve every time she looked at her happy-go-lucky daughter.
