Trevor held her tightly in his embrace. He was greatly affected by everything that had happened, too, but he had to stay strong, for her. All of a sudden, a thought struck him. He reached out his hand and rested it on the man's neck.

"He's alive! Don't worry! There's nothing to worry about!"

Trevor felt the man's weak breath. He then scanned the man's wound and realized that the man hadn't bled too much, so the guy was probably not dying soon. To be frank, the man could burn in h*ll for all he cared. He just wanted to soothe the woman in his arms.

"Alright, it's okay, I'll send you back home!"

However, Trevor had oversimplified the whole situation. He wanted to send Victoria back before clearing up the mess there, but just as the couple was ready to leave, police sirens could be heard from nearby. Trevor had finally calmed Victoria down, but the sirens made her blood run cold again. Her body went rigid and she shuddered out of fear. A trace of nervousness flashed across Trevor's eyes.

He didn't know what to say.

Trevor scowled and finally realized what was going on. He stole a glance at the man in the car and eventually noticed the hairpin in Victoria's hand. His wife had been quite fond of hairpins lately. She even tried tying up her hair with pencils and chopsticks. Trevor had even teased her about it a couple times.

The black vintage hairpin cost about twenty dollars. She liked it a lot, but he said it was too cheap. Too cheap for her. She told him that that was the point. She wouldn't feel too bad if she lost it since it was cheap. She even joked about how she could defend herself with the hairpin when in danger.

And she did! The hairpin actually came in handy!

Trevor took the hairpin from her hands and asked, "Where did you hit him just now?"

"The back of his neck. And his chest. When I tried out acupuncture before, the acupuncturist stuck a needle into the back of my neck, too, and it made me feel dizzy. I even asked about it, and he explained a little acupuncture stuff to me, so I remembered it quite clearly! I'm not strong enough, and when I pierced him...I didn't plan to kill, that wasn't my intention, it's just that, he kept moving, and so I...I stabbed his heart!"

Victoria was disorientated and struggled to form sentences. She even tried gesturing to help her husband understand what had happened.

"Okay, okay, I get it! You didn't do it on purpose, it's alright, it's alright-"

Trevor turned around and jabbed the man's arms a few times with the hairpin.

"Vicky, don't panic! Look me in the eyes. Listen to me. Remember what I'm going to tell you. You were tricked here. You thought it was me in the car, so you came! You were defending yourself, alright? It was selfdefense. He was trying to take advantage of you, and you only wanted to protect yourself! You stabbed him in the arm, okay? Only the arm! The left arm! You're a woman, so you're not that strong, and you stabbed his left arm in a panic. You don't know where the other wounds came from, everything happened too fast, you don't know where the other wounds came from! This was what happened, alright? You don't know anything else, okay?"

Victoria kept nodding, but her face was as pale as a ghost, "Hubby?”

The panic and concern in her eyes were too apparent as her gaze rested on the hairpin in his hand.

Trevor stroked her cheeks and kissed her hard, "You don't need to lie, just tell the police the truth! I'm here. Did you hurt him on purpose? Where did you stab him?”

"No, I didn't! No! I just...stabbed his arm!"

"Did you stab him really hard? Did you intend to kill him?"

Holger didn't really know what happened, so he didn't dare make any bold moves. It was also late at night, so he had to table some matters for the next morning. He tried to suppress the police with a few inside men. Holger even met up with the lawyer and Trevor first thing in the morning.

Trevor had already talked to Victoria, and she knew what to do. They were still locked up separately, though. Trevor didn't hide anything from Holger and Noah, "We were tricked! That guy's smart, too. He was making a big fuss about everything. He wanted to ruin Victoria's reputation, and he wanted me to see her getting ruined. The only reason he didn't get what he wanted was that my wife's a fighter. She fought, she defended herself, but her strikes may have been a little too heavy."

Trevor told them the whole story.

"I've already considered the situation thoroughly. I want you to do two things now! First of all, I don't care if that man's dead or alive, what's important is that he doesn't speak about that night ever again. I stabbed him, remember that, I stabbed him. Get Victoria out of here as soon as possible. She's been through too much. She's traumatized, and I don't know how long she can hold on. Secondly, go get Wyatt, Holger, go get him yourself. With his skills, he can definitely find out who did this. Get me all the information you can. Do you understand what you need to do?"

Holger nodded and whispered, "Yes. I'll destroy every single footage that is disadvantageous to Madam Victoria!"

They would teach that b*stard a lesson when Trevor gets out of this!

Trevor smiled as he exchanged glances with Holger.

Noah finally spoke up, "Trevor, you should understand that getting you out first is the better option. What your wife did was selfdefense, her reasons are way better than yours!"

If Victoria was the one getting involved, it would be easier for them to win the case! Everything also seemed much more reasonable! Trevor would just complicate matters by budging in like that.

"She has gone through too much! I have faith in you!"
