How could it be possible?

Being shocked by her own thoughts, Alicia shook her head in refusal.

Even Jeremy, who had been pursuing her for almost half a year, was barely able to move her. How could this overbearing yet unreasonable man make her fall so deeply in such a short period of time?

She must be too exhausted! Or she must be hallucinating!

Patting her cheeks, Alicia cheered herself up and walked out of the bathroom.

She didn't like to be perceived as being too ostentatious. Therefore, she removed a few layers of the red lipstick, leaving only a faint shade of red.

When she walked out of the bathroom, Frederick and the lady were nowhere to be found.

For some reason, Alicia's heart sank again...

On this day, she was in a terrible mood. For the first time, she willingly took a leave from the office. She didn't go to the hospital nor the company. She didn't even visit her mother. She wandered on the streets alone half the afternoon like a lonely lost soul. She didn't know where to go.

It was not until the sky was completely dark that she came back to her senses suddenly. Then, she felt a chilling sensation all over her body.

Alicia decided that she must move on. Hence, she gathered her emotions and headed home after a long day.

As soon as she got out of the car, she noticed that the lights in the house were on. Was Frederick back?

It was reasonable but somewhat unexpected! Was he in a hurry to come back to scold her again? In fact, this afternoon, her mind was full of images of the woman pestering and hanging onto him.

Inexplicably, Alicia was feeling upset at this moment. It was a rare sight.

Therefore, when she walked in, she was still feeling down.

When she opened the door and wore her slippers, she noticed that he was swirling the red wine glass at the bar counter. He was sitting at the same spot where he had hit her a few days ago!

"Are you dumb? You didn't even say anything when we met outside and now you want to act like a stranger at home?"

A sexy and low voice could be heard and it was indicating some displeasure. She halted her footstep subconsciously and turned her head to look at him with her red lips pursed.

Why did he always want her to greet him first? She was reluctant to do so!

In the past, she would always run to him with a huge grin every time when he came back, but at the moment...

Was she still angry with him? She was really spoiled! When she was out of the house, she behaved unrulily; once she came home, she became stubborn! Frederick was a little annoyed.

He frowned slightly and noticed that something was wrong. He put down the wine glass in his hand and uttered, "Come here!"

At first, she didn't want to have any interaction with him. However, his hand had been suspended in the air for quite some time and she understood his temper very well. Thus, she walked towards him. Alicia didn't even reach out her hand. Instead, she halted when she was a step away.

Frederick's deep eyes narrowed slightly. He raised his hand and pulled her over, holding her in his arms.

"What's wrong? You are done being mad at me, aren't you?"

Frederick didn't know what was going on in Alicia's mind. He thought that she was still mad at him as he had hit her when they were quarrelling last time!

"Look at me!"

He hated when she was being distant from him. It was as if he had done something wrong to her. He held her head and pinched her chin with his rough fingers.

"I haven't even said anything about you dressing up like that and hugging a man. I only beat your palm twice, yet you still can't get over it?"
