It was all because of this b*stard that she got into trouble with this man. Though she got away once, she fell into his clutches again!

Staring at Wyatt, a trace of hatred flashed across Waverly's eyes. Before she could speak, a gentle voice was heard.

"Can I help you up?"

She wasn't that old. Why would she need his help?

She was about to tell him off when she inadvertently met his gaze. In an instant, Waverly was stunned.

There was an obvious shift in her mood, but Wyatt attributed these to her PTSD. Her sudden petrified reaction made his heart ache even more.

"I won't hurt you. You're clearly uncomfortable. Let me help you sit up..." He reached out to test the waters. Seeing that she did not overreact, Wyatt grabbed hold of her shoulders and slowly helped her sit up against the head of the bed. He placed two pillows behind her before he grabbed another one from the other side of the bed, as if he was afraid that it would not be soft enough. Wyatt was very careful with every movement he made. Other than pulling at the blanket that had slid down, Waverly's eyes followed him closely like a shadow.

In fact, Waverly's reaction was towards the feeling of emptiness and discomfort under her clothes, but Wyatt misinterpreted it as PTSD.

After he helped her sit up, his eyes fell on the glaring bruises on her wrists. Wyatt subconsciously clenched his fist, but instead of approaching her, he sat down at the end of the bed.

"Are you hungry? Shall I get you something to eat?"

Waverly looked at him, slightly confused. What's wrong with him? Why was he walking on eggshells around her?

Instantly, Wyatt's face lit up with joy. He got up and walked towards the door. "I'll be right back."

"Waverly, the porridge is a little hot. Shall I feed it to you?"

She was looking at the bag on the table. After last night's impulse, Waverly wondered if she should return the bag to him.

Her returning the bag to him would signify that they were through!

She was obviously a little reluctant to return it, but her mind would not be at ease if she didn't. At this moment, she had already forgotten about the injury. It was as if she had been taken back to the previous day, before she met Raynee.

Ever since she had returned with him, she had not said a single word, cried or made a fuss. However, almost every time, she would wake up not long after she had fallen asleep. Every time Wyatt witnessed this, it was like a sharp knife stabbing at his heart. At first, she would resist when he got close to her. Whenever he tried, she would wrap herself in the blanket. She would tremble for a long time before she could react. He had gotten used to it after two days, and she had stopped pushing him away, but it was still a torture to him.

Suddenly, she felt as if she had been scalded by something hot. Waverly quickly came to her senses. Her body slowly relaxed, and her eyes fell on the water stain on her arm.

Was he crying?

Having seen and felt it for the first time, she was shocked.

Wyatt stroked her gently and used his body warmth to calm her down.

Then he said, "It's okay. It was just a nightmare. You're okay now. No one can hurt you, ever! You're my little fairy..."

Wyatt looked down at her as he caressed her face with his rough palm.

He continued, "Waverly, you've been laying in bed for some time. Why don't we go out to get some air? My little fairy needs a little sunshine. Otherwise, you'll become hairy!"

She looked pale and sickly, and he didn't like to see her like this at all!
