On the way, the both of them walked silently, lost in their own thoughts.

Turning down the corridor, Danica held his hand and led him to a short parterre. All of a sudden, she jumped and held onto Fredericks' neck.

"Frederick, won't you give me a piggy-back ride? You used to carry me while we were young! I miss those days, can you carry me for a while?"

She tried to jump on his back, a braid of her hair falling on his shoulders. Frederick immediately stiffened without him realizing it.

'Hubby, if I'm gone one day... would you take care of my mother on account that we're married?'

'Who knows how many women you've slept with outside! You're filthy! I said, don't touch me!'

Holding Danica's hand, Frederick turned around and pushed her away. "Stop it, you're already grown up! Why give you a piggy-back ride when there's nothing wrong with you?"

"It's fun! You can give me a piggy-back ride even if there's nothing wrong with me!" There were many men who carried their partners on the streets too.

"Frederick..." Danica pulled at his sleeves coquettishly, sounding like she was pleading with him.

"Stop it! I'm not used to this kind of stuff." Frederick replied firmly. He was obviously unwilling to do this.

Frederick's tone softened when he saw her disappointed face. "If we're seen, Chet would have a lot on his plate again! Why not save the hassle and use that money to give you a treat?"

Danica was all smiles the next second. "Okay! Next time, you're not to reject me if we're behind closed doors or I'll get mad!"

Frederick didn't answer. Coincidentally, his phone rang and he used this as an excuse to leave.

After Jeremy brought Alicia to the hospital, he sat on the bench in a daze. Looking at the blood on his hands, his mind was empty and his eyes were dull.

Time passed by and the door to the ward opened. He ran over in a daze. "Doctor?"

"We found an unknown substance in her body and she has lost awareness. She was under the effects of a drug that causes hallucination. We've treated her but she's still unconscious. The wounds on her leg were quite deep and they seemed as though she stabbed herself, but we already stitched her up! There shouldn't be any more complications. Well run some tests after she wakes up and then she's free to go!"

"Thank you, Doctor."

While entering the ward, Jeremy was still confused. A hallucinogen? Alicia stabbed herself?

Had she been schemed against and was drugged?

No wonder she was so defensive when they met. She was holding a knife fiercely and her eyes were bloodshot. She must have thought he was a bad guy and that something was going to happen to her, causing her to put up such a fierce front!
