With a cold expression on his face, Frederick took a look at Carson and he knew he wanted to tell him something. "Okay!"

However, his heart dropped on the inside. Was there something wrong with Alicia's health?

Before going out, Frederick leaned over to cover her up. "Be obedient, don't run around!"

With a cold snort, Alicia turned over and showed him her back.

He was agitated by the action and felt a jolt of anger. This woman was impossible!

Still, he left and shut the door.

He sent Carson downstairs. Carson spoke before leaving, "Does she have a habit of self-abuse?"

Generally, women with self-abuse habits had some mental problems! He remembered seeing her in a state of frenzy when he first walked in. Afterward, she was chattering all the way, giving him the impression that she was quite optimistic. People who were positive seldom self-abuse, thus he was confused.

He spoke doubtfully but with a slightly affirmative tone. Frederick was startled. "What did you say?"

Self- abuse? How could it be possible? If such a heartless woman self- abused, would there be anyone in the world who hadn't?

"The scar on her leg just formed a scab and it should be a recent injury, definitely not for more than a month. Judging from the direction and depth of the wound, I thought she stabbed herself!"

"Are you saying that she caused the wounds on her leg herself?"

Frederick could not believe his ears. He noticed those wounds when he changed her clothes the night before. There were also traces of stitches but her mental condition was unstable and they had not talked properly, therefore he did not have the chance to ask her. Those scars looked recent and they appeared in the time when he had not come home. He had never seen them before!

Her skin was smooth and delicate without any blemishes. He would not forget those apparent scars!

Nodding, Carson spoke.

"It should be! The wound is shallow at the top and deep at the bottom, and it's on the thigh. Judging from the direction of the wound, she stabbed herself before pulling it upwards. If it was by someone else, it could only be done if she was hung upside down in mid-air."

He gestured and demonstrated the action as he spoke.

"Thus, there is an eighty percent chance that she stabbed her thigh with a sharp object! That's why the wound looks like that, it's deeper the nearer it is to her knee."

Her appearance and body were precious to her. She would follow strict diets even if she had only gained a tiny bit of weight. She was that close to starving for the whole day just to manage her body. Why would she wound herself? Didn't she just ask whether her skin would be left with scars?

What happened to her during those days?

Frederick answered after pondering, "I got it. Are there any other problems with her body?"

"At the moment, she's fine! But, pay more attention to her mental state and how she's feeling. The mental trauma on women is usually larger than physical harm in this situation."

"Okay, I understand!"

After walking Carson out, Frederick brought breakfast upstairs.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw her bundled up in the quilt again. Gently tugging at the corner of his mouth, he walked over with a carton of milk and some bread rolls.

"My sick sweetheart in bed, would you like some food? If you end up starving yourself—" He would not be responsible for it.

Before he finished speaking, Alicia already sat up and snatched the food from him. She grabbed it and took a huge bite.

The food looked dry and unappetizing but she ate it all the same, not a word or look of complaint. His heart throbbed in pain.

"Drink some milk too, don’t choke yourself!"

Why did she look so delicate but gave a feeling that she would eat just anything and was very easy to be satisfied?
