Upon arrival at Yunga Hotel, Alicia saw a sturdy figure standing at the entrance as soon as she got out of the car.

Running along, Alicia swooped over in a hurry and hugged him from the back. "Hubby, have you been waiting long?"

She arrived five minutes earlier. Why was Frederick outside?

Leaning against him, Alicia wondered.

As Frederick turned around, his pursed lips relaxed a little as he saw her pretty smile. Stroking her hair, he raised his hand to clasp her slender waist.

"Yeah, let's go!"

Heading into the hotel, the two of them went straight into a private room and Alicia realized that he had booked a table.

Upon entering, Frederick even helped her to get into her seat, which gave her a startle. Why was he acting so differently?

When the menu was handed over, Alicia ordered a dish without hesitation. As for Frederic, he had a seafood dish. As he had to drive, he didn't order wine but a drink.

As they ate, they talked about family life and gossip. The atmosphere was delightful.

After dinner, Frederick paid the bill while Alicia continued to enjoy her pudding. Naturally, Frederick helped her carry her bag. Before leaving, Alicia felt a little guilty when she looked at the leftover seafood. Although she didn't have to spend her own money every time they dined out, it often made her have a sense of guilt, especially when there was wastage. She would always think of her parents, who hadn't had the opportunity to enjoy such food for the past two years.

They only had simple food for the past two years, even for New Year's!

In the past, if she heard someone else make a remark like that, she would have thought they were complaining. However, since experiencing that herself in the past three years, Alicia finally understood how those people felt. When life was tough, it was really a case of having to worry about the next day at the end of every day.

Even so, she had no right to accuse those around her or even Frederick. There was no excuse for his wastefulness, even with his conditions. Of course, he had the conditions and the ability to do so!

There were indeed gaps among people!

No one was entitled to blame others. Rich or poor, everyone had the right to choose. The only thing people could do and should do was to live their own lives and work their way up! No matter how envious and jealous people were of others, it wouldn't change their own dilemma, just like screwing others didn't mean one would rise. To rise, people should set their eyes on themselves!

As they walked out, Alicia held Frederick's hand, a smile showing on her face!

Frederick wandered off in a different direction after walking down the steps. Alicia abruptly tugged him. "Hubby, the car park is this way!"

"No rush! Let's take a walk, it'll help you with digestion!"

Following his lead, Alicia giggled.

"Hubby, are you disgusted with me? It breaks my heart when you make fun of me like that! I like to be praised! Can you praise me more from now on? You can say that I'll be prettier and slimmer after my walk, and you'll love me more! If you say that, I'll be able to walk with you happily..."

Frederick couldn't help but smile as he listened to her murmur along the way and clutched her hand. As he caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of his eye, his pace gradually slowed down.

When Alicia stopped talking, she found the two of them standing behind the bus stop sign, facing the abstract cartoon painting.

Alicia's heart felt like it had instantly fallen to the bottom. Her eyes unconsciously fell on Frederick's face.

"Is this a nice painting?"

As Frederick suddenly spoke, a cold sweat broke out on Alicia's back. Alicia panicked as she noticed he was staring at the painting.

What did he mean by that? Did he know something? Was it a coincidence?
