Alicia was about to suggest that she take her food in, but apparently, Doris had thought ahead and stopped her. As Alicia had already identified the room ahead, she didn't say anything more.

"Alright! Thanks!"

"Miss Blanchard, you're welcome."

Doris only left once she watched Alicia go. However, she kept turning back. It wasn't until she heard a pull on the door that she turned back again to make sure, and then she was slightly relieved.

Holy sh*t! She had finally done her job!

Looking at the plate in her hand, she was overwhelmed with melancholy. She had ordered whatever was available. The point was, they weren't even her favorite foods. She was on a controlled diet and had already packed her own fruit for lunch.

Amidst her despondency, another equally despondent person pulled open the door of the room beside her.

Their eyes meeting, Chet said, "Come in and eat before you go! What if something else goes wrong?"

What he meant was that if Doris went back, she might have to come down again!

Chet was the one who suffered the most! He was halfway through his meal when Frederick dragged him down, but only when he came down did he realize that Frederick didn't need his company for lunch. He had taken Chet as a chaperone. However, he left Chet behind before Chet had a chance to eat. Not to mention that Chet couldn't leave!

Sure enough, it was tough being Frederick's personal assistant!

Giving Chet a sympathetic look and a nod of agreement, Doris then walked in with her plate.

On the other hand, before Alicia could react, someone snatched her plate away as she entered private room three. Then, the door was closed and she fell into a warm embrace. The next thing she knew, there was warmth on her lips. The familiarity of his scent overwhelmed her instantly.

By the time she came back to her senses, her body was limp and her lips were numb from the kiss.

Holding her, Frederick's deep, dark eyes narrowed lightly. He could not resist pecking her again on the lips. Sure enough, she was a feast to the eyes.

Only then did he raise his hand and stroke her hair gently. "You're hungry, aren't you? Come and eat!"

In fact, as soon as he entered the canteen, he felt her loneliness and resignation profoundly. The kiss wasn't just a loss of restraint on his part. Rather, it was heartfelt and reassuring.

Holding Alicia's hand, Frederick led her to a seat off to the side. He then pushed his meal in front of her and in turn, dragged her plate to himself.

Frederick's lunch was fresh from the kitchen, obviously more refined, and was still steaming at the moment. His side dishes were two meat and two vegetables, including black fungus, mushrooms, beef, and fried prawns. These were all Alicia's usual favorites.

However, Alicia's mouth puckered instead of eating.

Alicia didn't think he'd get shut off too!

With his profile, it shouldn't be hard to get hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. Just then, Alicia thought of his frosty relationship with his family. He must have been reluctant to accept funding from his father!

Biting into her bun, Alicia vaguely seemed to understand the meaning of his words. Frederick then gave her some skinless chicken.

"The more you want to have, the more you have to risk. Integrating into a new environment means you'll have more to deal with; it won't be simple. You might even face a bit of aggravation. But if you stick to it, you'll discover a whole new world!"

Frederick knew he could give her shelter and even let her live without hindrance.

However, he didn't want that, especially at this moment when he was hell-bent on keeping her in the company for the long haul. If her special status were to be exposed right now, she would not be recognized later for all of her hard work.

The start was easy, but the journey ahead would be difficult.

He'd rather have Alicia starting off a little harder and then enjoy the fruits of it all in the future!

Subconsciously, he wanted her to have some adaptability to survive and resist stress as well. He also intended to help her improve her skills in this field. After all, there was a long road ahead and he couldn't guarantee that Soaver International would always be prosperous.
