She could also see that Frederick obviously did not want her to enter. However, Danica did not know that it was because there was someone inside. She thought that perhaps he was on guard against her, as he seemed slightly embarrassed.

"I've set up a small private painting exhibition this weekend! I wanted to pass you an invitation, thus I dropped by!"

As she spoke, she took out an artistically designed envelope. "Can you come to show some support? Is it okay if you come alone?" She asked as she passed it over.

Fearing that Frederick would take Alicia with him, Danica strategically stopped him from doing so.

They were still looking at each other.

"This is the first painting exhibition I'm hosting ever since I return. I would like to have a good start! If it's alright with you, just do me a favor and support the launch please?"

As he reached out for the invitation, Frederick merely replied, "Got it!"

Just at that moment, a staff member from the kitchen brought over a packed meal box. Initially, Danica had secretly inquired about Frederick's schedule and wanted to come at the right time to have a meal with him. But she now realized that she had missed the chance.

"Thank you! Then, I won't disturb your meal. I'll take my leave! See you this weekend at seven o'clock."

"Alright!"

Frederick nodded and did not persuade Danica to stay. He watched as she entered the elevator. Then, he took the meal box from the staff and said, "Come and get it from me at 2 p.m.!"

"Yes, sir!"

Alicia had been waiting in the room for quite some time and noticed that there were no signs of activity at the door. She slowly crept out, only to see that the door was closed. She had vaguely heard the voice of a woman, but as she peeked out, she only saw a man in a chef's uniform leaving. Alicia frowned in puzzlement.

"Darling, why are you whispering to the chef? What took you so long?"

Frederick subconsciously slid the invitation to the side of the food box to hide it from Alicia's view, "Oh, it's nothing. Let's go in and have some food."

"Sure!"

Alicia ran back to the sofa and quickly moved the vase away from the table. Meanwhile, Frederick hurriedly shoved the invitation card beneath the file on the table first, before taking out the meal box. He then spread out a disposable tablecloth, and served the food.

The prepared meal was sumptuous. There was a variety of delicious fish, meat, and vegetables, coupled with delectable desserts and fruits. Frederick took out a set of cutleries and handed it to Alicia.

"Let's enjoy it while it's still warm!"

"Okay!"

Without hesitation, Alicia stuffed a piece of salmon into her mouth. She then realized that Frederick was still looking at his phone, so she asked...

"Honey, are you not hungry?"

"I'm not hungry yet, but I will be in a while!"

He realized that he did not receive any messages from Danica, and hence felt a little relieved. He was afraid that Alicia would see it and the peace between them would be destroyed again. A thought struck his mind as he started to order snacks from an online vendor. He paid and arranged the delivery arrival time at 1 o'clock p.m.

He then put down his phone, picked up his fork, and passed a chicken wing to Alicia. "If there's anything you want to eat in the future, just come up here. I'll get someone to cook it for you!"

"Okay!"

Looking at her happy smile, Frederick began to munch on a bun. However, there were a lot of thoughts running through his mind.

"Is this Alicia that pretty? I'm so curious! No wonder Jennifer from the international department hates her so much! She has been dethroned from her seat of beauty and power, and now her admirers have all turned tail to Alicia. How can she not hate her?"
